House Fire in Eureka
The upstairs of a two story wood home caught on fire at C and 15th Streets in Eureka about 12:30 p.m. this Thanksgiving Day. Flames and smoke poured from the building as Humboldt Bay Fire arrived on the scene. Crews accessed the fire by chainsawing through the roof of the building.
The residents escaped the fire though one person reportedly has minor injuries, according to a report from North Coast News..

Glad everyone made it out. Thank you firefighters!
My great grandfather was the first owner of this house (built in 1886). Three generations of family lived here. Remained in the family until 1975. See “Remember in Eureka When” on FB for more history. I’ll be reaching out to the current occupants tomorrow to see what they might need.
Please let us know.
That’s a very normal response. Thank you for being human. .
So sorry to the family. Of all days. Be thankful for each other, it’s all any of us really need.
Crazy to think about the fact that, we expect firefighters to put on 70 pounds worth of gear to save mostly the weak and elderly. When some, think it’s way to much to ask of them to put a simple mask that weighs about oz to save mostly the same demographic of folks.
Bad ass. Sorry for the folks whose home this is. Glad everyone made it out.
Want to say thank you for all of the service that you provide our community. Local online news…Live on scene video reporting…Even obituaries. Great work !!!
We do some live video but, in this case, we embedded North Coast News’ video.
