This has got to be a joke right? People are missing and nothing is said for 5 days. To protect and to serve is not the manner of operation for LEOs in Mendocino it seems these days. Yes it is a dangerous job. They know that when they are still at the POLICE ACADEMY. Sign does not say BASKIN ROBBINS at the office. They do not carry weapons and tazers to use on themselves. But round here can make nearly 100gs a year with all the overtime from lack of staffing. What the hell???

How do you remember five days later if youd seen a random vehicle. Maybe the sheriff will explain there reasoning for this process taking this amount of time and taking place in this manner .

I can’t believe this shit .so what is not being said is that the report was made and so when the officers arrived at the reported location not seeing any evidence of any crime or not seeing any persons or other witnesses on or around the location and then leaving the location these six individuals were somewhere nearby sadistically torturing and killing the couple .I can only imagine what it was like for Tracy and kyle.i give my up most respects to them and thir loved ones .they are people that were mother father son daughter aunt uncle or brother and sister .I deeply scared by this event.and truthfully have lost all respect and trust in Mendocino County sheriff for the protection and justice for all individuals in the entire county.

Protect and Serve is a misnomer. The police only show up AFTER you have been a victim of a crime. You are robbed first and then you call the police. Your vehicle is stolen and then you call the police. Your brother is murdered and then you call the police. Your house is being broken into nd then you call the police. Your only recourse is to install equipment and plans to Protect yourself. Lots of locks and pepper spray. And guns for protection carry with them a problem. If you kill someone when they are breaking into your house or vehicle the perpetrator has to be threatening your life (there is a thing called the kill zone) or YOU can be charged with manslaughter and if found guilty you could be sentenced to prison. There has to be a clear case of emanate danger to you. And there have been cases of a person being sued because they harmed or killed a person who were breaking into a their house, but didn’t have a weapon.
