Humboldt Senior Resource Center joins McCrea Subaru in Sharing the Love this Holiday Season

Humboldt Senior Resource Center (HSRC) is proud to announce that it will be participating in the 2020 Subaru Share the Love Event as a member of Meals on Wheels America – one of four national Share the Love charitable partners supported through the campaign. From now through January 4, 2021, Subaru of America will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of participating charities. As a Home Town Charity, HSRC has the opportunity to receive an additional $250 per vehicle from McCrea Subaru when designated by the buyer. “The Subaru Share the Love campaign has had such a positive impact on HSRC’s Senior Nutrition Program, which depends on community support to continue to offer the senior dining programs and Home Delivered Meals. How we are providing meal may look a little different during the pandemic, but the program is still going strong and actually serving even more individuals and meals than before. McCrea Subaru is a great partner in supporting the Nutrition Program. If you are considering purchasing a Subaru this holiday season, be sure to designate the Humboldt Senior Resource Center as a beneficiary in the Share the Love event!” says Barbara Walser, HSRC’s Director of Nutrition & Activities. Jason Ghera, McCrea Subaru General Manager, shares, “Our community is very lucky to have the Humboldt Senior Resource Center with access to all of the valuable services that help our seniors stay healthy and independent. McCrea Subaru is happy to be able to support delivering more meals to local seniors in need through the Subaru Share the Love program.” Over the last 12 years, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated more than $176 million to its charity partners. This year’s Subaru Share the Love Event is on track to bring that total to over $200 million, proving there’s no limit to the amount of love we can all share. HSRC has received almost $31,000 from McCrea and Subaru of America in the last year alone thanks to the Share the Love event. By purchasing or leasing a new Subaru during the Subaru Share the Love Event and selecting the Humboldt Senior Resource Center as your charity of choice, you can help deliver nutritious meals and other important services to seniors right here in this community. Another way the government takes care of us. By providing tax breaks for companies like this they ensure the community is provided for. I like to see my tax dollars used for good instead of going into the pockets of people whom don’t deserve it. Shop local and keep are dollars here. Mom and pop appreciate you’re support. HG.

This is a great program and a real benefit to our local seniors. Please do what you can to support this generous program.

Not so much when the company charges extra money from their customers then gets a tax break for making a donation for that amount. Is there an option to get the money taken off the car price instead of designating a charity to get it? The tax break should go to the customer who is actually paying for it. Sonnyb is right. It’s a feel good publicity campaign where the customer get taken and the company squeezes a tax break from money they didn’t earn.

HSRC is a good and valued member of our community. McCrea rips people off every single day. Horrible company.

These comments are disgusting. Your mad about tax breaks to a local business that provides local jobs and gives the money locally? Your right. Please make them pay taxes where the money will never be seen locally. Lets punish people for charity!

If you really want to help seniors, demand that your government supply affordable healthcare and demand understandable, affordable and standardized insurance for seniors.

Elders in America are fleeing to other countries for dental and medical care, as well as pharmacy.

In America we are not afraid to die, but we really fear running out of money, following buying Part B, Part D, and “Supplemental” insurance!!

Who the fuck can afford to be a senior, and why has this become so bad?

Thanks to the dealer of the worst vehicles on the market, the Subaru! Old ladies love these cars, damned if I know why, but nobody who knows anything at all about motor vehicles would buy one, IMO!
