A COVID-19 Safe Halloween: Eureka Main Street Offers No Tricks, Just Treats in Goodie Bags Available at a Curbside Pick-up for Kids 12 and Under

Eureka Main Street businesses have found a way to provide treats to children 12 and under in spite of the COVID-19 restrictions this year.

Sadly, the annual walk through trick-or-treat event in downtown and Old Town Eureka had to be canceled. Normally, about 70 businesses are open for kids accompanied by an adult to parade through the districts wearing their costumes and collecting treats.

This year though, in order to keep the necessary social distancing required during the pandemic, the Eureka Main Street business association will be providing curbside pickup of the treat bags today from 2 to 4 p.m. on 1st and F Street. Volunteers wearing masks and gloves will pass the treat bags in through the vehicle windows.

The treat bags are filled with goodies donated by local businesses. “We really want the children to have a happy and healthy, safe Halloween,” explained Amanada Kruschke, Assistant Director of Eureka Main Street. “This is the best way we could accommodate that this year….We wish them all a happy Halloween.”
