Humboldt Test Results by the Numbers

I live in Fortuna and I was excited to see that the Humboldt County Covid Dashboard finally includes a section where you can see the covid numbers for each zip code instead of just the 3 areas, northern, greater and southern humboldt. The problem is that there is no way to see a trend without keeping a daily count, so there needs to be a way to click on your zip code to see a graph of the numbers over time. This is important in Fortuna to see if opening the High School in the way that they did caused any kind of surge. The same with opening the bars. Doing this would help the substantial older population, of which I am one, easily keep track of the covid trends in town. I’m for total transparency in regards to covid stats, as long as it protects the privacy of the people infected. I suggested this to the information person at county health, but I would like to get it out to the general public so some pressure can be applied to the people that design the dashboard. Thanks for your time.

And hospitalizations too. I totally agree with the graphing of the data. Cummulatives are pretty useless.

For sure

Agree! Trends are key to keeping as aware& safe as possible. If clusters arise, we can be even more vigilant during a surge.

Okay… Either you have it or you don’t. Easy peasy.

Seriously, I agree with Jurgen Stoll. It would seem to me that it would help to stop the viral spread if a person knew that they were in the middle of viral cesspool. A person could put aside some things that would otherwise be important to deal with.

Also, I am a big fan of following the science. Unfortunately, the science says that if we all locked ourselves in a private room for two weeks the virus would completely go away. The The fact that many people would die that way is not considered by science. The virus would be cured. However, everything would shut down or fall apart. No electricity, no ambulances, no airplanes… Zero everything. But, At least “Science” would have cured the virus.

At some point a person will discover that they will have to use COMMON SENSE. Protect yourself and others as best you can, and life, and progress must go on. Life ain’t perfect, nobody promised you a rose garden. At least we didn’t get hit by a comet.

However, tell us where the damn virus is and don’t keep it a big secret shared only by the “healthcare” professionals.

Yesterday a person told me they witnessed 30 people laughing/talking while trimming Pot in a confined space (garage type building) with no masks near Petrolia in the mattole valley. I feel bad for people who work at stores in the rural areas

Keep social distancing and wearing a mask in public.
There are a decent number of out of the area seasonal agricultural workers in humboldt county due to cannabis harvest season.

Sounds like they are self quarantined, and working.

Yeah, it does sound that way.

Some scientist needs to uncover the viability of being quarantined while immersed in the cannabis harvest.

Instead we’ll keep the schools locked down. Just in case.
