PG&E texted me at 1:21 to let me know to expect a shutoff between 2 and 4. When I checked this morning, they showed no PSPS for me. They gave me 39 minutes notice. PG&E is an asshole corporation.

PG&E has been sued for billions of dollars because of equipment caused fires in recent years. That they are shutting down power in dangerous weather should come as no surprise. You have had plenty of time and have been warned about these shut offs. Be grateful that you have NOT burned up and that they are doing what is possible to keep you safe.
I am as angry with PG&E as anyone. But I am prepared and appreciate every effort to keep YOU & ME safe
By the way, my power was off for less than 2 hours.

You think those 2 hours without electricity saved you or anyone else from a fire?

That was a bunch of incompetent assholes who don’t know what computerized switches to throw.

Yo, stars,
Those jackasses sent me an email and text every day since Monday…It’s on, it’s off, it’s delayed, it’s back on for sure, sorry not happening, oh wait, it’s back on Sunday between 10 and 12. Then, they sent more around 10:45 this morning telling me 2 – 4pm. They cut my power at 12:30. If only I knew who exactly is the misguided fool that keeps sending me the damn notices.

Larabee Valley as well as the TLC campsite are both FULL of firefighters right now, yet they still cut the power. Wind event didn’t last too long(it was over long before 6pm) but the power is still off.

Up until noon today (Sunday) my address (on the pg&e page) came up as Not being in a shut off zone for psps.
Then an uncomplete voice mail (@ noon – on landline only) clued me in that now I am in the psps area.
Feels like PG&E has no clue what they are doing.

Great news. As of 2pm most of Southern Humboldt (which was scheduled for PSPS between 2pm-4pm) has now been lifted from the PSPS.

I’m usually ok with pge taking some precautions but they just shut me down, there’s no wind, I’m wearing a sweater and about to start the wood stove up for heat. I feel like Mexico is going to take pity on us at some point and offer aid.

Two things: peoples excess solar power being sold back to pg and e on transmission lines not upgraded for that will result in transformers blowing..and also the lava from Reiner..shasta..maybe lassic..all on the move ..

If P.G.&E. keeps up this (not so) wonderful predictions, it will end up with the inevitable result of no one paying the slightest attention to said predictions.

Even ATT has generators on it’s equipment! I am waiting for someone to report a big fire caused by a propane stove, coleman lantern or a generator meltdown…

PG&E is no more incompetent, corrupt and shot through with nepotism and unqualified employees than any other American business organization… They are finding their fuzzy way in the dark, and, doing the best they can to avoid legal exposure before providing service…

Mind your candles, lanterns, camping stoves and fireplaces! Don’t burn down your own home, and if you have a small Honda Generator you can run a few lights, charge your phones and keep your internet on, at least in Lake County!

Has there been any word about, or has anyone heard anything, drones flying recently?
