SoHum Health Now Offering Drive-up Flu Shots
Press release from SoHum Health:
In an effort to make seasonal flu vaccines more accessible, drive-up flu shots are now available at the Southern Humboldt Community Clinic in Garberville. Those wishing to receive a flu shot should call (707) 923-3921 x221 to request and schedule a time-slot. Upon arrival for their scheduled time slot, patients should park in the clinic parking lot on Elm Street, turn on their flasher/hazard lights, and phone the front desk at the number above. A nurse will then come outside to give the patient their vaccine while they sit in their car.
With COVID-19 in our community, SoHum Health urges everyone to consider getting a flu shot this season to reduce their risk of contracting both of these viruses. Contracting flu virus and COVID-19 concurrently increases the risk of serious health complications. Flu vaccine is safe and effective at protecting you as well as those around you, by preventing spread by asymptomatic individuals.
