Red Flag Warning for Large Swaths Of Northwestern California Starting Early Tomorrow

Red Flag Warning

Tomorrow, dry weather and gusty winds will likely bring critically dangerous fire conditions. The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag Warning for large swaths of northwestern California. (See the map above.)

“Strong, gusty north to northeast winds combined with a warm, dry airmass will favor a critical fire weather threat early Thursday morning through late morning on Friday,” the National Weather Service warned. And it what is a definite understatement, they added, “Outdoor burning is not recommended.”

We would up that polite suggestion to…DON’T burn anything outdoors! Be careful, even a spark could become a wildfire. (Remember that gender reveal party? Don’t be those guys!)

I always have in the back of my mind, when it is as tinder dry as it has been this year, that the devastating 2018 Ranch Fire was caused by a spark from hammering in a metal stake. There was one arsonist who started a wildfire in Oregon last month whose political ideology was known. Care to tell us what it was?
