Look, Peggy.

You can’t just scream “resist the government!!!” for four years and then the moment the government says for you to put a mask on your face or else you’re going to get a bad cough you say “hey everybody! start following what the government says and don’t defer from it!”

That’s called being a hypocrite, Peggy. In fact, nobody likes a hypocrite. Hypocrites are as bad as racists.

The bible endorses and in cases of adultery, requires abortions.

Life begins at birth, with the inhalation of the
Breath of Life, not before.

There is not one iota of evidences that the bible rejects abortions. That idea is a wholly modern invention.

Statistics also show that 100% of the people who force their religious views onto other people don’t understand the concept of personal freedom to make medical decisions about ending an unwanted pregnancy for whatever reason they have.

Just as an aside, does that mean all those sperm wasted down the shower drain are hurting their souls? I’m pretty sure onanism is listed as a sin somewhere in that collection of parables.

Does that count for PETA who uses force and makes it much harder to end the pregnancy of my dog when she gets knocked up by my irresponsible neighbor’s dog who refused to either keep it at home or neuter it than to get a human abortion? Cats too… Oh the reasoning of the left.

Big fan of laying pipe responsibly according to the ovulation cycle.

If women merely followed their natural cycles, they wouldn’t need to abort.

Ethnic cleansing by a cultural heritage foundation has morphed into a blanket policy of soft kill of everyone.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m merely pointing out why women are so excited about being able to scrape their uterus so they can continue engaging in a futile economic career that essentially will exploit her labor as a tax base for 40 plus years.

So yeah, abortion keeps her class position stable.

Solidifies her poor choices.

Remember, there are no solutions, just alternatives.

Garberville is no place to demonstrate that you want abortion legal, and, your local Healthcare organization, SHCHD, is strictly opposed to allowing or providing reproductive freedom, women’s health, or (don’t say the word) abortion.

SHCHD hates women, oddly, because SHCHD preferentially hires women, since women accept more abuse and will work for less money. SHCHD lacks diversity in hiring, discriminates against men, elders, persons of color, and persons with experience.

SHCHD in particular, and Garberville in general, regards women as a cheap labor source, a captive audience of patients, and, second class citizens.

Joe Biden and Donald Trump both feel that women are a convenience, that women’s bodies are for the pleasure of men, and that women are breeding animals, with few rights.

Both candidates would be happy to take away women’s right to vote, women’s right to reproductive freedom and reproductive health, and, in Garberville, men would prefer you barefoot and pregnant, bound and gagged.

Nice effort, by local women. I wonder if they fully understand the environment they are protesting, the situation that Humboldt County women exist within. I would have expected massive protest against Amy Barrett’s ascension to the Supreme Court, which I regard as a huge deception, and a definite step towards taking away women’s rights.

Women are witnessing the repeal of Feminism, the withdrawal of women’s rights and reproductive freedom, by a very screwed up President! Don’t start thinking that Biden is any better, since he is also a proven abuser of women…

I don’t claim to be able to look into people’s souls, but I do know that democrats are competant bureaucrats that have consistently gotten our national debt paid down over the last 50 years, whereas Republicans ain’t, and don’t. They are also slliiiiightly better stewards of our rights and can at least be pushed in the right direction by public demonstration.

Lesser of two evils.

There is NOT a single president that has lowered the national debt in 50 years, NOT ONE, but nice try. I don’t dislike liberals for failing to see the irony in the inability to spell “competent”, just as long as they make a competent argument. I dislike liberals because they spout nonsense like this statement with ZERO clue about the topic they’re so passionate about. Then other liberals repeat it as if they had a clue about the topic; you’re like a pack of squawking hyenas. And when you point out that they are wrong they NEVER admit wrong, rather they throw a temper tantrum. RUSSIAAAA!

Hey Dave,

I’ll make this simple for you:

Women’s rights have been fought over for a century, and it’s time that their needs were considered, even by mismanaged little hospitals that are operated by people like the folks you will find in charge at the hospital in Garberville!

Changing the world means changing ourselves, and changing the way a District Hospital operates means that the citizens of the District will have to demand the services they need from the “Public Agency” that they are forced to pay to support. Hopefully, changes will eventually be made that will result in the removal of the entrenched individuals that steadfastly prevent the evolution of the organization…

Since few people in SoHum care a single toot about SHCHD, and even fewer of them ever use it, the women of SoHum may not realize how biased and bigoted SHCHD actually is, so I want everyone to know.

You served on the Board. Probably, you contributed to poor policies and procedures that exist to this day. My suggestion, work with your friends at SHCHD to help them see their way towards providing the services that the community needs! This would be more constructive than your more usual approach.

SHCHD should provide Women’s Health, Outpatient Pharmacy, Behavioral Health, Detox and Rehab, and many other services critically needed by the population. Failing to meet the needs of women, is only one way that, ultimately, the hospital will go broke and be lost to the community even farther than it already is.

Namaste, Dave!

The continuing abortion debate is boring old news. It’s legal as long as you dont wait too long or the mothers life is in danger. Makes perfect sense. Be happy you aren’t in China where they tell you you can’t reproduce.

“…don’t wait too long..” — do you mean like until a woman figures out she’s pregnant? Because some states have enacted a 6 week limit for completing the procedure, which can take 2-3 weeks to get scheduled because of the limited access and restrictions and it often takes 3-4 weeks before a pregnancy is confirmed.

I don’t really understand the dichotomy between a libertarian viewpoint (i.e. don’t tell me what to do) and being okay with restricting or eliminating the rights of women on medical decisions about their own bodies. Unless of course you don’t consider women as competent to make their own decisions.

As for China, their current policy is you can have 2 kids. With a population of 1.5 billion, that seems a reasonable limit.

It’s not about the rights of women, the question is at what time does the fetus have rights. I dont think anyone supports having the child and dumping it in the trash. The question is how close to actual birth should women be allowed to make that decision. It’s not all about women, although many women think it is. It’s about societal norms. It’s called civilization. I doubt if you will see the Supreme Court changing the law anytime soon. Its been the law for 47 years. I have no religious belief against abortion and support the right especially for the human need to stop reproducing so much, which I view as the world’s greatest longterm problem.

Chuckle, I’m doubling down. Hey CY,it’s funny you mention the mask thing, it’s ok for you to make a law that I have to wear a mask to save lives, it’s ok for you to make a law that I can’t have certain guns, once again to save lives, but all of a sudden you are morally outraged at the idea that someone might limit your ability to kill unborn children? The US averages about 1 million abortions a year, for a grand total of around 62 million total, so technically abortions have killed more people than Covid, guns and Adolf Hitler combined. And to be clear, I’m wicked pro abortion, as long as it’s not late term, but I also have the ability to appreciate the irony of you only caring about human life’s when they fit your agenda. I don’t want laws telling me what guns I can have, I don’t want laws telling me to wear a mask and I don’t want laws telling you what to do with your body,

I am completely against seat belt laws. Same for helmet laws.

They have no correleation as I see them.

We are constantly told masks are to protect others, not ourselves. The whole point of masks is to protect others, not the individual wearing them.

How is the whole point of a seatbelt or helmet to protect others?

The seatbelt and helmet laws were backed by insurance as they said it was to save lives and money from more precarious injury in crashes.

Why aren’t we concerned with what the masses eat if we are so concerned about their health. If I have to pay a fine for not wearing a seatbelt, why aren’t folks fined for eating at McDonalds?

A few places have tried to do things like tax sugary soft drinks and the gov’t has mandated nutrition and calorie labels in an attempt to get people to make smart choices.

Hasn’t worked all that well for a large part of the population.

I kind of agree about the helmet law even though I will always wear a helmet when I ride regardless of if it’s required or not.

The seatbelt law though, that impacts all of us — if insurance and health care payouts increase, so do my rates. The only way your argument works is if your insurance can be predicated on your wearing a seatbelt (i.e. if you get in a wreck and you aren’t wearing one, then they don’t have to pay for your medical bills).

This starts down a slippery slope of pre-existing conditions and insurance. Which means that if insurance gets too expensive, no one will buy it and they’ll all end up placing demands on the emergency system — which you can already see in Eureka if you ever go to St. Joe’s ER. Fully half to 3/4s of the people in there are not having an emergency but go there because they can get treated for free. Which then clogs up resources for those who are having an emergency.

This is a leading argument for a non-profit, public-based health care system. Free care for everyone supported by the broader tax base would help avoid this kind of unbalanced health care that we currently have.

I’m not trying to kill anything, I’m just morally opposed to limiting the options women can choose from in the event they find themselves pregnant. I don’t know their individual stories so I’m not going to judge their choices, nor limit their options because of some religious conviction.

By the way, no one is *for* late-term abortions but they are medically necessary at times. Focusing on that is a bit disingenuous since most states have laws restricting that.

7 States don’t restrict abortion significantly
1 State doesn’t allow any abortions, 1 has it proposed
7 States only allow abortion up to 6-8 weeks (varies by state)
3 States allow abortion up to 12 weeks
17 States allow abortions up to 20-24 weeks
14 States allow abortions up to fetal viability (1 more currently does but has a bill to ban them entirely)

The earliest living premature babies were around 21 weeks, James Elgin Gill and Amillia Taylor. There are 27 states that allow abortions up to or passed that time. I think the baby should be required to be removed by C-section and the mother needs to look at it and see what she’s throwing away, and if its alive she needs to either take care of it or be charged with murder.

I have one question.

So the computer guy says he turned over the hard drive to the FBI. Where is the actual lap top (and in one story he said “Hunter Biden” left three laptops there?

Did he toss the actual laptop (or laptops)? Seems it wouldn’t be too hard to produce the actual laptop (now without a hard drive) that has the Beau Biden Foundation sticker on it. Or even just a photo of it. Seeing as he “made a copy” for himself of the hard drive, why not?

Also, does your computer guy take it upon himself to read your private e-mails?

HotCoffee
Guest
HotCoffee

That’s three questions not one.

The FBI has had the laptop for almost one year.

The laptop was left at the repair shop to be repaired.

Before you repair a computer you make a copy of the contents so if the repair goes wrong you can reinstall the contents as recommended anytime you make changes to your computer. It’s called making a backup.

After several attempts to contact Hunter and as stated on the receipt the laptop was abandoned and became the property of the repair shop.

You can read anything on your own property and the laptop was the property of the repair shop until it was taken by the FBI.

The second laptop belongs to a convicted person still in jail who is in on the crimes that has agreed to give up his password and access to his computer.

Not sure but the third might belong to Kerry’s step son, and, Or a third person in on the crimes but had his sentence overturned by a Biden insider.

My questions
Where is Hunter and why isn’t he out on the campaign trail supporting his dad like the Trump kids? His Brother? The rest of the Biden crime family?

Why hasn’t Biden denied the charges and explained what’s going on?

Why is the tech companies hiding the story? As is the lefty news channels?

A whole lot of treason going on!

The owner says the FBI had the hard drive. In an interview with the shop owner he claims he made the copy to protect himself before he gave the hard drive to the FBI, because he feared he’d wind up like Seth Rich. Here, again, we only have his word for this, as well that one (of three) laptops had a Beau Biden sticker on it. Seems if he was afraid for his life he would also have taken at least a photo of THAT! But his own version of events changed in one freaking interview.

Also, why would Hunter Biden, who lives in Los Angeles, drop off three (3) laptops in Delaware and then never even contact the shop about them? Oh, and when “he” dropped them off, even though the owner says he couldn’t actually see who the man that dropped them off was? And that he then assumed it was Hunter because of the Beau Biden sticker? MacIssac says he tried to contact Biden? I call bullshite on that, well I call BS on the whole thing.

Where are the other two laptops as well.

Do you take your computers (three of them) to a repair shop and then just forget about them? Also, the computer is NOT the property of the shop while it is there. Is your vehicle the property of the auto repair shop while it is there? So, it would be totally cool for the repairman to drive around in your vehicle?

But I promise you that I wont be voting for Hunter Biden for POTUS. Or Ivanka and Jared, either.

Hunter did not drop off three laptops. He dropped off one, the other two belong to two other people not dropped at the shop, but witnesses to the corruption and recipients of Hunter emails .

Funny Hunter can get to Ukraine and China but not Delaware where Daddy lives?

Meanwhile there are photos of Biden playing golf with Bursima people he claims he never met and didn’t know about.

Not to mention his stop at the CFR bragging of getting the Bursima prosecutor fired in a quid quo pro.

You don’t think Hunter would be all over a lawsuit or two if the story was false? Especially with all daddy’s attorneys??

LOL, the NY Post.

I take my information from what MacIsaac said…in interviews, you know, the primary source. Information that changed from one version to the next to another in the same interview.

I again admit I got stuck on the three laptops, when “Hunter Biden” brought three in, as MacIssac said, missing the bit where “Hunter Biden” took two back with him.

Yep NYPost that’s been around 200 years and hasn’t been sued and lost…..
unlike CNN, MSNBC, etc. How many lawsuits? So many I lost track.

Quote
https://www.revolver.news/2020/10/hunter-biden-laptop-emails-anthony-weiner/

I did a bit of digging around because I was curious about how this laptop dropped into Rudy’s hands, and in my research, I stumbled upon an article in “Business Insider” that held a very interesting nugget of information.

The article is titled, “The New York Post inadvertently revealed the original source of its dubious Hunter Biden story.” That immediately caught my eye, so I delved into the piece and towards the end of the article I spotted my little “bombshell.”

The Business Insider piece was seeking the same thing I was: dirt on how this whole thing went down. Their people examined many of the documents that were recovered off the hard drive and published in The New York Post piece, and they believe that based on those examinations they’ve identified the FBI agent who issued the subpoena for Hunter’s laptop.

His name is reportedly Joshua Wilson and he works out of the FBI’s satellite office in downtown Willmington. Mr. Wilson is an FBI agent best known for his work in the “child pornography” division of the bureau.

Do you see where I’m going with this?

Here’s a blip from the Business Insider article:

https://www.revolver.news/2020/10/hunter-biden-laptop-emails-anthony-weiner/

After I read that article, I was perusing the internet once more and I happened upon another interesting nugget that might just back up this theory.

It came by way of OANN reporter Chanel Rion, who sent out a tweet after seeing the actual contents of Hunter’s laptop for herself.

Here’s what she said: “Just saw for myself a behind the scenes look at the #HunterBiden hard drive: Drugs, underage obsessions, power deals… Druggie Hunter makes Anthony Weiner’s down under selfie addiction look normal. #BidenCrimeFamily has a lot of apologizing to do. So does Big Tech.”

I do stand corrected about the Salaheddin Barhoum and Yassine Zaimi lawsuit that they won in 2014.

I also suspect the CJR to be a little less unbiased than they once were. I’d have to research the board to prove or disprove it.
A comment in 1980? Should we start there with Biden? Because there are lots of lawsuits….

speaking of lawsuits….

OAN announced today that it has filed its opening brief against Rachel Maddow and Comcast in the United States Court of Appeals.

Robert Herring, Sr., Founder & CEO of One America News Network stated, “We’re fully prepared to pursue this case against Rachel Maddow, Comcast, and NBCU to the United States Supreme Court, even though we are in a David v. Goliath legal battle. Maddow made the claim that OAN and my family have engaged in treasonous acts. Nothing is further from the truth and her heavily propagated falsehoods have hurt the network’s integrity and the trust extended by our viewers.”

NPR’s credibility in the U.S. 2020
Published by Amy Watson, Jul 6, 2020
Data on the perceived credibility of the National Public Radio (NPR) in the United States as of April 2020 showed that
19 percent of respondents stated they found NPR very credible,
along with 24 percent who said they believed the source was somewhat credible. Meanwhile, 18 percent had never heard of NPR.

Views Of NPR’s Credibility Tend To Be Partisan-Based
April 28, 201112:54 PM ET

Alicia C. Shepard

More Democrats than Republicans find NPR’s stories believable, according to research presented by the Pew Project for Excellence in Journalism, a non-partisan organization that uses data to evaluate media performance.

“NPR and PBS have among the bigger partisan gaps in believability,” said Tom Rosenstiel, the Project’s director. “Thirty seven percent of Democrats say they believe most or all of what they hear on NPR, compared with 29 percent of independents and 16 percent of Republicans. That is a Democrat vs. Republican gap of 21 points, up from two years earlier.”

He made his remarks Tuesday at an event hosted by the University of Missouri School of Journalism and The National Press Club as part of a symposium on the Future of Public Broadcasting.

It sucked to be Rudy Giuliani years before his daughter publicly opposed his crazy beliefs and behavior. At this point, he apparently doesn’t even care if the dirt he supposedly has on Hunter Biden is real or not. Rudy has gone from being a “useful idiot” for the Kremlin to being a “willing idiot”.

Daddy takes down the mafia so daughter votes for the next two biggest crime families, Clinton and Biden. I bet psychotherapists would have a field day with that.

I wonder what she would say if she grew up in the Biden Clinton families.

Thank you to all of the powerful, beautiful and inspiring women and men who marched yesterday. Our country is at a dangerous crossroads but eventually love and human rights will prevail over fear and misogyny. I am so proud to see this happening in southern Humboldt.

The reason so many morons, yes astonishing asinine, self righteous, self aggrandizing idiots are here making fun of, degrading and/or condemning women for standing up for their right to control their own bodies is as simple as they are:
Fully empowered women scare the sh*t out of them.😱
I guess they’re afraid some woman might treat them the way they’ve been treating them.🙄

No kidding. If men could get pregnant, abortions would be free and paid for by the government. If men menstrated, tampons would be free, too.

Asset vs liability.

Men and women are creates biologically different for a damn good reason.

Each has their strengths and weaknesses. Made to compliment each other.

The division between the sexes was promoted by Edward Bernays, and we are seeing the fallout of the breakdown of the nuclear family.

It’s by no means a source of pride to raise your children as a single mom, with the government as your daddy.

Empower people to live a virtuous and well lived life.

It’s not a woman’s job to try to be her biological counterpart. That’s why the state has become to large a presence in our lives.

Once they are pregnant, it’s not their body that needs protection, it’s the baby’s body that needs to be protected.

It’s interesting how many subjects on this site have commentators accusing people of hate. It’s amazing how in the case of abortion, those who are pro life are accused of being hateful.

The reality is, legal or not, abortion is the most selfish, hateful thing anyone can do. Those who choose abortion, those who perform abortions, those who promote abortion are committing a legal hate crime with every child that is killed.

That is why every pro abortion Democrat will never get my vote. They look at legal baby killing as a right. They want to defund police who keep people safe from criminals committing rape, murder, etc. They put policies in place allowing drug dealers (actually mass murders using drugs as their weapon) to be released back on the streets. They say riots are “peaceful protests.”

Absolutely nothing in this comment should make sense in a civilized society, but then again, who said a progressive society is a civilized society anyhow?

Alf,

No one is “pro-abortion”. They are “Pro-Choice”. They are simply demanding the freedom to choose medically acceptable procedures on their own bodies and not have someone’s religious fanaticism forced upon them.

The Pro-Life group is actively working to increase the number of abortions by limiting access to birth control and things such as the morning-after pill. This results in more unwanted pregnancies, not fewer.

The demands to defund Planned Parenthood, allowing companies with religious leaders to refuse to cover birth control while still covering Viagra prescriptions, and places like St. Joe’s refusing to allow their doctors to even discuss things like vasectomies are all examples of this religious fanaticism being forced on everyone.

I take a more libertarian approach to this — don’t tell women what to do with their bodies. Let them make their own choices from the full range of medically-acceptable options and then let them deal with the consequences of their choices.

The problem is that most progressives are against capital punishment for serious violent crimes. These criminals are choosing to be hideous worthless trash. The baby killers are murdering innocent children who have never done anything wrong. Those who believe criminals should not be killed, yet kill babies by the millions have no understanding of right and wrong. I have no problem with rape and incest abortions morally because the women had no choice. However, the choice to be sexually active and then kill the baby is much more immoral than capital punishment ever will be.

The argument resides in when it’s a fetus and when it’s a baby. Religious conservatives tend to take the extreme view (formation of the zygote) while progressives tend to view it as fetal viability is when the transition occurs.

No one is an advocate of killing babies. No one, not even the most liberal progressive. Using that language is just inflammatory hyperbole designed to bring moral outrage to what is fundamentally a religious viewpoint about an accepted medical procedure. Fewer than 1.3% of all abortions in the US occur after 21 weeks and I suspect most of those occur when the life of the mother is in danger. 91% of all abortions occur before 13 weeks, well before fetal viability occurs.

If you can’t have sex without getting pregnant, it’s like driving a vehicle without alcohol. ..

Just don’t do it.

Abstain from sex around your ovulation, if you can’t protect yourself, and try not to spill your drink while driving…

I’m not saying repeal of roe is appropriate.

I’m saying that society has reinforced bad decisions for many years.

If it’s your body, then take care of it so you don’t have to ask the government to be yo daddy.

Hate crime. What misogynistic garbage. You think a woman with an unwanted pregnancy wants an abortion? It is a personal problem, a difficult decision, with no upside. Often the sperm depositor is done & gone. I hope male, narrow-minded religious fanatics come back as third world women.

Although I am a conservative who believes in marriage only between one male and one female, believes the ACA was wrong because it was a closed door deal by one party in very questionable manner, and am avidly against abortion, the marriage and health care issues are not the same as abortion. Gay or lesbian marriages won’t create unwanted pregnancies, nor will the ACA. They are both a far cry from killing innocent life. I believe you will find members of the LGBTQ community who are conservative, not religious who would agree that abortion is killing innocent life.

I have multiple adopted cousins, multiple adopted nephews and nieces, and an adopted spouse. Not one wishes they were aborted. The loving, humane thing to do is let babies live and have a chance.

Practicing mask wearing is apparently like a condom for your respiratory system. It makes getting sick from breathing the virus less likely, although it isn’t 100% effective. That’s why abstinence from close interaction with other people is the best way not to get unwanted illnesses.

If only these practices were taken before becoming sexually active there would be a great reduction of unwanted pregnancy and R v W would not even be a subject of conversation.
