Wallace D. Kingsley Sr.: ‘Loving Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, and friend’

Wallace D. Kingsley Sr.Born February 22nd, 1948 to Amos Kingsley Sr., of the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin and Christine Jake of the Yurok Tribe, and passed away on October 5th, 2020 at Mercy Hospital with his daughters and his sister in law by his side.

Wally grew up on the Klamath River, later moved to Crescent City, He has lived in Hayfork, and finally settled down in Cottonwood, Ca. Wally was a truck driver for over 20 years. He was a loving Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, and friend. Wally was a proud member of the Yurok Tribe, he also attended Anderson Indian Full Gospel Church, where he would take his Mom every Sunday, and his kids and grandkids for some of the holidays. You could also find Wally sitting at a slot machine, always with a big grin whether it was at Win River, Lucky Bear, Blue Lake or Chera-Heights.

He loved each of his children in his own way, he did the best he knew how as a parent. He adored his grandchildren. They will cherish the memories of fishing, hunting, swimming, shooting marbles with the sling-shots Grampa made for them, looking at pictures of family, eating at Grampa’s favorite buffets in Redding, and hearing all the crazy stories of him and his brothers growing up.

Wallace is preceded in death by his parents Christine and Amos Sr. His brothers: Dave, Melvin, and Phil. His sons: Scott and Mike.

He was survived by his children: Wayne(Brandi), Wallace(Cindy), Charlie, Jackie(Rafa), and Cassaundra(Alvaro).

His grandchildren: Rojelio, Omar, Aliana, Valentina, Andres, Calina, RJ, Sam, Amelia, Casey, Evan, Sky, Forrest, Elizabeth, Geoffery, Hobbes, Miles, and Abagail.
His sister-in-laws: Julie and Ellen.

His nieces and nephews: Dave Jr., Little Phil(Londa), Brandy(Hector Sr.), Veronica(Paul), Christina, Chum(Taylor), Melvin Jr, Donald, Winona, Shekky(Laurel), Scraigon, Anne(Kit), and Stella

UPDATE: The graveside service for Wallace Kingsley Sr., will be on Saturday, October 24th, at 11:30. At the IOOF Cemetery in Crescent City. The address is 400 E. Cooper Avenue (behind Home Depot)
