Trinity County COVID Cluster Grows to 10 Positive Cases

Trinity County Public Health Branch (TCPHB) was notified of another positive case bringing the total to 10 positive cases. Over the weekend of October 3-4, 2020, our community observed an increase in positive COVID-19 test results in our county; the highest number of positives tests to date in a narrow timeframe.
We recognize the concern this brings to our communities. Be assured that the TCPHB COVID-19 Surveillance and Control Team (SCT) has effectively responded in order to ensure positive individuals and identified contacts are under isolation or quarantine orders, as appropriate.
Generally speaking, as a result of contact tracing, some sectors within the county may become impacted by positive COVID-19 individuals. Depending on the scenario, voluntary or prescribed precautions such as these below may take place:
- A business may voluntarily take steps to ensure a safe environment for their business (close to increase sanitation/cleaning, modify to virtual services, etc.); or
- Receive guidance from the state for their business sector; or
Receive instruction from the Public Health Officer through a written order.
There are many variables to consider when these decisions are made and are done in consultation with the TCPHB, the County Health Officer, and the California Department of Public Health.
As we saw this weekend, Trinity Alps Unified School District (TAUSD) took voluntary action, to ensure a safe environment for their staff, students, and sites as the result of potential exposures. There have been no confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 within the TAUSD and no school staff have been identified as close contacts to positive cases at this time.

The ignorance displayed here is why we have this outbreak. Sure, fearless leaded aka the cockwomble, or is that shitgibbon? No matter, his little stunt does not mean COVID is a flu.. It does demonstrate how effective massive doses of steroids can be for a short time. But just as the virus is working it’s way through the White House, so it will work its way through Trinity County and the rest of the Triangle.
There is no herd immunity to compliment the herd mentality that refuses common sense prevention as there is no known effective treatment. But youal’ keep on with your “I’m tougher than that bug” thingy.
