The 441 covid number, like many other important county information numbers is not accessible from lifeline landlines in outlying parts of the county. Why are not ALL county phone numbers toll free.
I guess the county supposes that everyone has internet & cell phones, but this is not the case. And in the case of power outages even those who do have those things may have only a landline for getting information.
In recent evacuation warnings coupled with power outages I lost cell service & internet and the evacuation number was inaccessible to me.
In the best of times, my cell phone does not work where I live without wifi. This is an issue of personal safety to me.

This is confusing to me. You get WiFi but not cell service? And why is the number, whether it is a charge or not, not available from your land line?

Now we are importing 150 students from San Jose to practice football because they can’t do it on their campus. We are screwed.

Maybe or maybe not. It does seem likely though. Football players are not noted for their strict adherence to school rules.

You mean they haven’t all died? But surely all of their grandparents have died right?
