Caltrans District 2 tweeted at 8:24 a.m.,

Growdozers driving like their dope is on fire and stationary firefighters battling flames don’t mix. All the best to the crews, if it skips 36 it is a whole new ballgame for me and a lot of others.

“Stationary firefighters battling flame” is not only an oxymoron but a stupid statement.

If you had any clue how many resources it would take to take direct action on a wildfire flank of that length, in that location, with the recent weather and fuel conditions, with MANY other huge catastrophic fires burning across the western US, then you would be smart enough to keep your mouth shut.

So you have helped hold that section of 36 with firefighters before? I have. You stop to cool flare ups and put out the spots that start across the road. I have seen fire trucks responding to their own call almost hit firefighters who flash jumped out on a spot fire on those twisty roads. There is a lot of shit that rolls onto 36 on the south side of 36 above FG when it is on fire, you are stationary on a corner a lot. I understand people talking out their ass but that isn’t me here. 36 is the best fire break they have got, they will hold it with everything.

If it jumps 36 you will be running around like your dope is going to burn 🤷🏽‍♂️. And take your growdozer with it 🥵🤣

36 is not a natural fire break, it is man made. 😂
A river would be a natural fire break.

They need air drops, Retardant & Water‼️ LIKE YESTERDAYS😳
Helicopters & Planes‼️‼️
Why isn’t the Armed Services helping with Airplanes & Helicopters ❓❓
AfterALL “To Serve & Protect‼️“ isn’t their Motto❓❓ They’re using ALL KINDS of CALIFORNIA GOVERMENT LANDS as BASES🤔🤔
These r OUR Forests & people’s way of LIFE JUST going up IN FLAMES🔥🔥❓❓
Why was this not stopped Sooner❓❓
Why has it EVEN GOTTEN to this UNBELIEVABLE STAGE‼️🥰🥰
SOMEONE IS NOT DOING THEIR JOB or JOBS MANAGING FIRE CONTAINMENT IMMEDIATELY‼️‼️‼️
If it was Newsome’s &/or Presidents lands u BET ur ASS it WOULD be OUT IMMEDIATELY‼️‼️😡😡😡

Maybe the smoky conditions don’t safely allow aircraft to fly.

I don’t know where you are but there has been a serious air show all week with a C-130 as well. I heard that one over my chainsaw.

CalFire is amazing! They know what they’re doing and have saved my home twice over the years. I totally understand your stress and I’m sorry for that but these guys are professionals. Just know that sometimes the wind, the terrain, and smoke doesn’t always cooperate. Best wishes

The weather is going to be a problem starting Sun. when the wind shifts and starts pushing the fire west. Gusty east wind, above normal heat and low humidity don’t bode well. Looks like next week we’ll get the smoke back here in So Hum. The fact that this will surprise no one and there are a lot of resources mobilized in the area should help.

When they really hit it its very obvious. One after another dumping retardant. These huge planes that look real outta place are dumping long runs of red retardant.
Im sure thats $$$$. They dont do it all the time but when expensive real estate is at stake the big guns start dumping red. Its very impressive to watch.
