[UPDATE: CLOSED] Hwy 36 Likely to Close Tomorrow Morning and Remain Closed Through the Weekend

The August Complex continues to move north and firefighters will likely have to close Hwy 36 tomorrow.

The California Highway Patrol issued the following statement at 3:50 p.m. Thursday afternoon:

The CHP is anticipating a closure of State Route 36 from State Route 3 to South Fork Mountain Summit in Trinity County for fire fighting operations related to the August Complex Fires. The closure will begin at 8:00 AM on 09/25/2020 and is expected to last through the weekend.

Bypass the closure Hayfork to Indian Valley to Hyanpom to Forest Service 1 and down to Mad River, or the other way around if going East. Then there’s 299 for the less adventurous.

You are telling people to go on a terrible road and going through national forest land which is Indian Valley , by the way is closed to any traffic .
