[UPDATE: POSTPONED] Sushi & Japanese Dinners Highly Anticipated in Mateel Fundraiser

Mateel Community Center presents the Drive Through Dinner fundraiser Friday,September 25th with  highly anticipated sushi and Japanese dinners prepared by Keith Feiferek & Stephanie Umali. Orders for dinner begin at 4:30pm at 59 Rusk Lane in Redway.  Drive into the lower parking lot to place and pick up orders and exit out the back gate. Limited socially-distanced table seating is available on the hillside.

 

The Mateel’s Drive-Through Dinners fundraiser is supported by donations from members of the community and from local businesses:  Chautauqua Natural Foods in Garberville & Shop Smart in Redway. Here’s what’s on the menu for the September 4th Drive Through Dinner fundraiser, Crazy Tokyo Sushi menu:

 

Real Deal -Sustainably harvested seared ahi & real crab, tobiko, asparagus, thin sliced lemon, Sriracha mayo drizzle  12 *limited quantities **

Philly- cold smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado  9
Tempura shrimp roll – avocado, cucumbers, tobiko, Sriracha mayo drizzle     11
Tempura yam – asparagus cukes, thin sliced lemon  8
California- imitation crab or safe caught bay shrimp, avocado, cucumber     7

Shitake Miso soup  4

Dinners 15
include steamed rice (brown or white), veg stir fry & sunomono; for bay shrimp add $2

Teriyaki Chicken
Curry Katsu Chicken breaded with panko, gluten free available
Shrimp or Tofu and Veggie Tempura

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed…. again I Like Stars?
First. Other than feeding the less fortunate (etc) the Mateel is not a restaurant.
Second. It’s really the ‘covid-safe’ way they are doing meals, with the ‘drive thru’ option. Genius!
PS: You ‘like stars’ in the sky, or ones on the red carpets and as seen on screens? ….Yes. I can guess. 😉
