The National Weather Service predicts a chance of light to moderate rain this evening for most of Humboldt County, a tiny bit of northwest Mendocino County, parts of Trinity County, and all of Del Norte County.

According to a tweet from the National Weather Service in Eureka at 6:49 p.m., “Rain is being reported near the Oregon border. Showers will push south & east across Del Norte & into Humboldt county later this evening & overnight. Rainfall amounts will be higher to the north. Most of Thursday will turn out dry, with clearing skies.”

Remember to be careful driving as early rains often make for slippery roads.

Consider checking that car windows are rolled up and firewood is covered.
