Fatal crash Feature iconPress release from the Trinity CHP:

On 09/20/2020 at approximately 0905 hours, Trinity County Sheriffs Deputy B. Pedrotti, was flagged down by a passing motorist and advised of fresh tire marks that led off the roadway on SR-299 near mile post marker 13. CHP dispatch was advised. Deputy Pedrotti responded to the area and located a vehicle submerged in the Trinty River several hundred feet down the embankment from the roadway. Hawkins Bar Fire and Trinity River CHP arrived on scene. Due to the rugged terrain, Hawkins Bar Fire personnel had to repel down the embankment to get to the vehicle. A diver was sent into the river and could confirm one deceased occupant but was unable to gain access to

the passenger compartment of the vehicle to ascertain the sex of the occupant or if there were any other occupants. The cause of the collision is under investigation.

The tracks looked like the vehicle was eastbound, if that helps.

How is that possible that you saw the car on a tow truck? I could be wrong but it sounds as if the car is still in the water. That’s why they said, ” A diver was sent into the river and could confirm one deceased occupant but was unable to gain access to the passenger compartment of the vehicle to ascertain the sex of the occupant or if there were any other occupants”.
May they rest in peace whoever they are.

I sure wish they would stop running this story. I feel very sorry for the family and friends to keep seeing it in print. Day after day serves no purpose!
