[UPDATE 5:13 p.m.] Fire Burning in Lake County; Structures Threatened and Powerlines Downed

A new fire broke out northeast of Clearlake Oaks this afternoon. About 3:40 p.m., personnel on the scene are describing the the Wolf Fire as a 15 acre grass fire with a moderate rate of spread burning near the 3000 block of Wolf Creek Road and Doe Trail.

According to the scanner traffic, powerlines are down, multiple explosions have been reported, and structures are threatened near Doe Trail.

Cal Fire LNU provided more information on the fire via Twitter. “Fire is approximately 15 acres. No evacuations at this time. Crews will be in the area working. Expect delays if traveling in the area.”

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

UPDATE 4:03 p.m.: Personnel told the dispatcher that a Wolf Creek Road resident had reported a propane tank explosion on the 3000 block of Wolf Creek Road.

UPDATE 4:23 p.m.: Fire personnel requested the dispatcher cancel all resources not at scene. This indicates that the fire is coming under contol.

UPDATE 5:13 p.m.: Cal Fire tweeted, “Fire is approximately 15 acres and 50% contained. Forward progress has been stopped. Crews will be in the area working for the next couple of hours. Expect delays if traveling in the area.”

Clearlake Oake is just northeast of Clearlake Oaks, I’m pretty sure.
