The largest overreaction in 100 years, Kym.

The ultimate obfuscation is playing out, and myopic views on what is safe has blinded the many people who truly believe in their leaders .

Chris Rock Slams Pelosi For ‘Letting The Pandemic Come In’ During Impeachment Charade

It seems like you might just encourage mandatory vaccinations.

Hope I’m wrong, but there is mounting evidence that the reaction has proven to be worse than the disease.

Actually, for creating the US’s second deadliest month in history, and @ nearly 200,000 US souls dead in 10 months, I would some, ahem, have had quite the under-reaction.

But some people, ahem, use disasters to further their reach of manipulation and misinformation.

Some people’s, ahem, distrust in anything besides the untrustworthy has made their claims laughable and tragic.

Some people, ahem, make such wild claims that the idea of disclaimers for misinformation is likely might be considered for comment forums.

There is no evidence piling up anywhere in that article. It’s just crazy conspiracy ranting. The primary source they use even specifically says the results are statistically weak, and possibly simply due to states with bigger problems implementing bigger lockdowns, not the other way around…. And it’s not even a proper study they’re quoting, but someone’s opinion piece. The other studies they quote do not say what they say they’re saying, for example, “a longer time prior to implementation of any lockdown was associated with a lower number of detected cases per million.”, which just says the obvious, that areas with smaller problems often waited longer before implementing lockdowns, not that the lockdowns didn’t work.

In short, that article is intentionally mis-leading, uses cherry-picked unreliable sources (including opinion pieces mis-labeled as studies), intentionally mis-interprets results, ans is generally total bullshit that you should be ashamed to post.

Does any agree that news stations have high ratings due to their dramatization of anything that could get ratings. The numbers speak for themselves, cdc nov dec 2017 and jan feb 2018, 79000 deaths in 4 months from the flu. Working on 9 months of COVID-19, 200000 deaths , do the HARD numbers ,barely worse than the flu that no one even cared about.
Oh yeah ,we masked and distanced, we don’t know if that helps at all. We got FUHS back on campus, we know they are the worst about masking and distancing. No cases in 6 weeks. I know, not news worthy, but I bet if they get just one case it will be everywhere, including here.
So are people down playing the situation or are people spreading fear? For ratings, i mean money. Get off that laptop, phone ,desktop or whatever for a week, the world might just change.

So your link is arguing that that reported flu deaths by the CDC is WRONG. Anyone can find links to argue their side, I’m just looking at cdc numbers on flu and numbers on covid. FUHS has zero cases, where is your article on that? Sorry if the numbers don’t help your point, numbers don’t lie Kym. How many articles have you posted on covid, how many did you post on 2017 -18 flu ? Rest my case Kym, it’s alright, we all have to make a buck.

Why does cdc say there was 79000 flu deaths in 4 month of nov,dec17 to jan feb 2018. So the cdc is a bunch of liars? That is what your saying.

The “Asian Flu”, 1957–58. A H2N2 virus first identified in China in late February 1957. It caused about two million deaths globally.

The “Hong Kong Flu”, 1968–69. A H3N2 virus first detected in Hong Kong in early 1968 and spread across the world, lasting until 1972. This pandemic killed approximately one million people worldwide.

The “Swine Flu”, 2009–10. An H1N1 virus first detected in Mexico in early 2009. Estimates for the mortality of this pandemic range from 150 to 500 thousand.

Even after the 9.11 conspiracy, we didn’t shut down the economic engine.

I’d say 20 years of war in the middle east was a construct of the planned response to the events of 9.11.2001

I’d say that the destruction of the United States, is also a part of the planned response to a virus created in a lab in a wuhan class 4 bio weapons lab, and from the crispr technology, this has been shown to have been modified from a number of different animal viruses, which weren’t previously transferred to humans, and then weaponized by using a gain of function virus insert found in HIV.

I’D LOVE TO BELIEVE IN A MAGIC KINGDOM AND HAPPILY EVER AFTER,

PROBLEM WITH THAT, IS THAT I’D HAVE TO IGNORE HISTORY…

I’m confused about why “It’s lunatics like you that make the majority of us hope you are planning to attend a Trump Fascist Rally soon to get yourself exposed to Covid-19. When you are getting plugged into a ventilator at the hospital , remember, it’s just ‘propaganda’” didn’t get edited. It contained insult. If Swine had said “It’s lunatics like you that make the majority of us hope you are planning to attend a BLM looters rally in Portland and get infected so that when you are on a ventilator you will at least know it really was for propaganda after all.”

By calling trump a fascist you have proven two things, you don’t know what that word means and you don’t care what that word means. Words are tricky, it’s OK, you can’t be expected to know the meaning of all of them. But I’ve found it best to not use words that you don’t understand to insult people as it tends to have the opposite effect.

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, as well as strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Trump is a wannabe, but flailing in that direction. He’s too self absorbed and stupid to effectively consolidate power. He even had a bunch of pin-wheel eyed cult followers in congress, and couldn’t pull off his military trump parade.

Biden /Harris is a better solution?

I think China has too much influence on our country.

The political regime in China, as well as the communist mobs, are going to make life difficult for honest, hard working families on free countries.

It’s a subversive act of war, and millions of innocent fodder will die, because freedom is worth killing those who wish to enslave the decent people of the world.

That definition is false. That is the new-age definition of fascism. You have fallen for the attempt at new-speak by the powers that be. That is a definition tailored to your beliefs. Here is the actual, unaltered webster dictionary definition of fascism:

Fascism means “a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.”

https://www.merriam-webster.com/news-trend-watch/fascism-2015-12-04#:~:text=Fascism%20means%20%E2%80%9Ca%20political%20philosophy,and%20forcible%20suppression%20of%20opposition.%E2%80%9D

Except that it isn’t a far right ideology. Its usually born from socialism or communism, its the same old story. Somebody takes advantage of a system that is meant to make everybody equal and instead makes everyone equally poor in order to serve the people who took power and implemented fascism in the name of equality and shared wealth.

How do we drop in case numbers per day? Sounds like some people at the lab might need better training . Maybe the person swabbing needs better training. Maybe the person transporting the swabs needs to be more careful. Sure are an awful lot of hands that have to get it right. We can’t even be 100 percent sure any of are 6 deaths are from COVID-19. Sounds like alot of assuming.

Countries I have often traveled to are denying entry by any US resident due to our high COVID-19 death rate. Those of you who continue to downplay the seriousness of this pandemic really need to open your eyes to the world. The Tangerine President has not only made us a laughing stock in the eyes of the western world, we are now trapped here, unable to legally enter most European countries.

Once the tail of the covid.19 lockdown tiger has been grasped, no government can afford to let it go. But then again, places like New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, etc banned travelers from all over, unless of course they were very wealthy and could purchase entrance, absolutely including their own citizens. But then again they did not have a tangerine president to call racist when he tried “banned light”. Or rather they did not call him racist because they did not care if they were racist or not. They preferred to be protected. We, on the other hand, do not allow that and got exactly what we demanded- 51 little fiefdoms with each governor looking to pass the blame upwards no matter how badly their orders work out. We’d rather pull down our face masks and spit at each other than succeed.

If you want to see what it takes to “succeed” at keeping covid.19 out of the country, see how you like this headline: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/19/new-zealand-sends-500-military-staff-to-bolster-quarantine-facilities. Sounds like the “right wing nuts’ conspiracy theory” and good luck with that. Traveling internationally so much, you of course are willing to pay the New Zealand about $1600 per person per week to be locked up in one of these camps, if they let you in at all. Not to mention – gasp- they delayed their elections. I can hear the screams of outrage in my left ear when a hint of that was broached by Mr. Tangerine man. No, it)s not surprising the US is bumbling along. With the level of civil discord so many keep alive at any cost, it’s amazing that anything gets done at all.

IMO this is important. Keeping track of the virus on the Johns Hopkins site. For people who have never been to it there is well of information that can be derived. It’s important because people have to understand and believe that this isn’t something that should be looked at with agenda filled eyes, that there is something going on we need to address.
https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf

We don’t know what the virus will be like in the future and never will. But you can get a sense of the future there. On the bottom right hand corner of each page there is a box ‘Daily Cases’. The first is the world. Upper right hand corner of the box is the button to go full page which is helpful for me. The world daily infection rate has never peaked. It has been on a steady rise setting new records every few days. From this we know that the virus is still active. Much of the numbers are from India, where the surge is astronomical. But if remove those numbers the graph of the world would still be a straight shot upwards, but with fewer numbers. (India posted numbers yesterday, the huge spike, that are almost double what they were. This is usually an accounting error and should be fixed tomorrow)

The next one down is the US. Click on it and you’ll notice that the US has come down off the peak surge and has plateaued at 35,000 new cases. This is a significant improvement, but it’s still higher than the peak of the first surge, and not where we want to be going into flu season.

Then click down a ways on Mexico, our neighbor. It too has come down from it’s peak but still very active. What all of this says is that vigilance is still required.

3 thousand die during 9/11 and the whole world changes.

200,000 people die and nobody gives a shit.

Trapped in America where who ‘the disposable’ are becoming clearer and clearer and we’re threatened with civil war fomented by a narcissist who doesn’t want Covid to tarnish his reign. And if it does, he’ll hesitate on PPE or a vaccine to make sure his 1% buddies/Jared will profit off SICK PEOPLE.

ps Trump doesn’t let anyone around him that isn’t tested daily. Hmmmm….

and while I’m ragging on Trump here, don’t even think Joe will be any better.
