I think the problem isn’t the particulates we can see to some degree. But the fact its settling on the landscape due to the temperature drops and humidity bringing down to ground level. Which is then not moving much due to vegetation and structures basically holding on to it.

The areas that have good exposure to coastal winds, seems to have great air quality. But a very short distance past that as the vegetation and geographic elevations change, then have extremely high particulate counts.

The fire with the pink smoke must be from the gender reveal party.

Local yokels still driving their fuel guzzling Tonka trucks around. Some rube’s earth destroyer was belching black diesel smoke in Henderson Center. These callous pigs could care less about air quality, the fires or the future for their children and grandchildren. Personally, I really hope they are not breeding.

This must be a warning for the blind. That whole chart was a waste of time and money. I thought California was supposed to have clean air by 2020. Somebody lied again.

Particulate matter is bad enough but the poison oak volatiles in it will get me every time.
I expect this year will also have a serious FLU problem, along with COVID. Flu always gets worse after fires smoke us in. Been observing this since 1980.
Please be generous to your neighbors and wear a mask.
Please.
It slows down flu and colds, too.

Dear Lord please send some rain! Even the Pacific Northwest could use a good storm about now. Per Purple Air, the air quality in Seattle and esp. Portland and cities alongside the I5 corridor are way worse than ours currently! I wonder how folks can breathe in an older home without an air purifier or two. That particulate matter PM2.5 really finds its way into the home that’s not properly sealed and oftentimes the air inside will match the quality of air outside real quick.

Choke a maggot for sure. Covid what, everyone up here ,or, forgot the china thing now gasping for life as in toxic air , worst in the world. Imagine : asbestos tires insulation green matter oak , burning oil gas plastic ,all swirling around portland skies, but no more protesters and no more presidential nonsense just focus on oxygen. Finally everyone agrees on something.
