Information from the Department of Fish and Wildlife:

For the Trinity County operations during the week of Sept. 1, CDFW served two warrants.

One was on the 200 block of Garret Road in Hyampom and the other was near USFS Route 1.

A records check confirmed that neither parcel had a state license for commercial cannabis cultivation.

During the operations, wildlife officers eradicated over 1,000 illegal cannabis plants and confiscated 1,100 lbs of processed cannabis.

In total, 13 subjects were detained and no arrests were made. Formal complaints will be filed with local jurisdictions for consideration. No further information is available at this time as these are ongoing investigations.

To report environmental crimes such as water pollution, water diversions and poaching, call the CalTIP hotline at (888) 334-2258 or text information to “TIP411” (847411).

Jc you must be a newbie around here. Anyone I know around here who has any skin in the game has been busted at least once if not numerous times. Most of us weren’t cited and released either. Lmfao. Some of us had huge forfeiture cases, and did time. Guess what…. we put our boots back on and kept going.
Y’all are a bunch of whiners. They are called the flower police for a reason. Go download some camo cowboys And listen to the track flower police and get yourself edgeumicated.
Eventually your tag gets punched. At least nowadays it’s just a little slap on the wrist.

You all are so ready to judge. Not a newbie just not a regular complainer like you all. I was here when they went shoulder to shoulder for a green sweep helicopters with military hanging out the side with riffles scaring the shit out of my whole family early nineties late eighties. Why don’t they do that anymore. Think about it. You all just roll over for authoritarian rule. Stand up for your inalienable rights. I don’t believe forestry should let a fire burn into a monster then hand it over to cal fire. While local enforcement gets to do what ever benefits them and their pocket books invading private property that you can only see from a law enforcement helicopter not public nuisance!

Maybe just get permitted and be a legal grower? I know you’d have to pay taxes to support roads and schools, as well as workmen’s comp and SS. Or are you addicted to the easy money and don’t give a crap about the victims of the black market?

This bust is a good thing for the folks that go through the proper channels and pay IMMENSE fees every year to be legal. I am so happy for all my legal grower friends. From first hand knowledge, this bust is a HUGE benefit to the local community of regular folks and legal growers in Hyampom. Scattered a bunch of unsavory types like roaches, just wish the county would go in and pick up all the meth heads and dealers.

Well said BRF and they say it’s legal. I spent a total of 16 yrs facing huge time in the late 70’s and again in the early 90’s. 40yrs to life in the 70’s 20 to 40 in the 90’s luckily i had one of the best lawyers in the country and they only took everything they could get their hands on. Life’s a trip!

Dang Bob. I would love the opportunity to buy you a drink (alcoholic, or non-alcoholic) and swap some stories. You have some years and cases on me my friend.

Couldn’t agree more, 4 raids, two cases, and 5 years Fed time. Have all my permits, waiting for state license approval and the MET thugs tore it all down a few weeks ago. No worries though, my spot in Southern Oregon is on point. I’ll be spending my $300k up North from now on. The $120k I paid to employees each fall won’t be happening this season. These are locals who live in my remote N.E. Humboldt town who will not be working this year. Seems like they are the ones getting Screwed this year. They don’t have to many other options.

Even so I think they should have all hands on deck at a time like this. Fish and game and BLM shouldn’t be participating in busts, they should be assisting in preparations for fire dangers. Just because the fire wasn’t here yet doesn’t exemplify that they were raging in our surrounding counties and they are insanely short handed.

Try to remember Cove Wolf,

Fighting wild fires costs a lot of money. Eradicating marijuana is an income source from the Feds paid to the states and counties.

Or you could say … Marijuana eradication is job and retirement security. Fighting wildfires is dangerously hard, life-threatening work.

Hence … Fighting wildfires is done by the volunteers and Marijuana eradication is done by the career socialists.

Proof the County Government and Rule-makers don’t care about the people of Humboldt. In times of financial a ruin, in times of unprecedented emergencies, IE; pandemic, wildfires, mass unemployment, Humboldt County Government and Rulemakers just wanna kick everyone while they are already down and stressed beyond belief. HUMBOLDT COUNTY should disband their eradication unit for the rest of the year and then re-examine our true priorities of protecting our county from wildfires, if there is time and money to eradicate cannabis then our priorities are screwed as fire departments and Calfire are both understaffed and underfunded. Priorities are in the Wrong place.
Defund Eradication, Fund Fire Departments Fund Fuel Break Removal!

We’re you here when they defunded eradication? It was about 10 years ago and it turned our neighborhoods into grower ghettos that we are still experiencing today but to a lesser degree. Every dumbass around bought 160 acres and a big ford truck and trashed our quiet back roads and Our creeks. No thanks I’ll take a balance of eradication to keep the idiots out and still make it possible for mom and pops to make a living.

All of you are weak. If I still owned land up there I would have at least 2 trespass grows and be cutting clones by the tens of thousands. Grow as much as you can . Plant poppy and coca too. Fuck it. Life is short.

When we all grew respectfully this was not an issue. Never would a land owner clear cut to grow like they do now. They would tuck it in, work with their land. Once the mega grow technique became the trend it all went to hell in a hand basket. Our lands cannot sustain 1000s and 1000s of plants. The quality has went way down as the quanity has went up. Ole’ English vs Narwhale folks. Ground chuck vs Kobe. B Bar S vs Nathan’s. My son has been working on a LEGAL FARM. OH CRIPE. They cut 1000 plants dried em all in 3 days using heat and dehumidifiers. So crispy like glass. All at the direction of the east coast boys who finance it. They MANAGE it but obviously know nothing of growing.
Too many foxes in the henhouse.

Ditto on the quantity over quality, and not caring about the land. Clones have ruined the original strains that put Humboldt on the map. I grow heritage seed strains trying to keep those original strains going and use all organic, permaculture techniques. I don’t smoke anybody’s but mine unless I know they are old school small craft growers. I can taste all the stuff they put in the water in the bud. It is harsh and doesn’t pass the “one toke rule”! The “Industry” has become just that.. an Industry. My Ex who taught me how to grow hated that word. I am a proud legacy grower and miss the good ‘ol days. This Brave New World seems so callous and cold. Love to all. Stay safe and let’s pray the rain comes soon to quell these fires.
