Gunfire at Redwood Valley Marijuana Grow After Two Intruders Attempt to Rob the Place While Claiming to be Law Enforcement

Armed Robbery feature icon

At approximately 5:00 this morning in Mendocino County, a Redwood Valley man sleeping in his trailer was awoken by two intruders claiming to be law enforcement. Out of concern for his safety, the man brandished a firearm, the intruders fled firing their weapons at the trailer five times before disappearing into the darkness.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office’s Public Information Officer Captain Greg Van Patten said the incident occurred within the 9000 Block of Laughlin Way in Redwood Valley. He described the area as having multiple marijuana grows and suspected the attempted robbery was related to cultivation. The trailer was located on marijuana grow, Captain Van Patten said, and the man fell asleep with the door ajar and a screen door closed for circulation throughout the night.

Captain Van Patten said the victim woke up to two individuals bursting through the screen door claiming to be law enforcement saying he needed to evacuate because of a fire. At this point, Captain Van Patten said the occupant of the trailer brandished a firearm and the intruders fled the trailer.

Captain Van Patten said multiple handgun casings were found at the scene and there appeared to be at least one bullet hole in the trailer itself resulting from the firefight. After the exchange of bullets, Captain Van Patten said the trailer occupant reported the intruders fled “into the darkness”.

At this point in the investigation, Captain Van Patten said it is unclear how the intruders accessed the property but surmised they entered the property on foot and fled to a vehicle parked nearby.

Captain Van Patten asks that if any members of the Mendocino County public have any information about this occurrence to please contact Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at (707)463-4086.

LOL. I remember years ago reading about a guy busted for stealing a load of what he thought was beef. Turns out it was beef, but mostly anuses, etc.

The guy said something to the effect that he was mad that he was going to prison for streling “assholes”.

🕯🌳To bad you couldn’t hire a armed security legally and economically to protect your grows? The basic problem would be finding an honest group that would do it with out turning on you or selling you out.

There are armed companies legally protecting grows, indoors, light deps, and extraction and transportation companies throughout the state. It is entirely legal to hire a licensed security company. The law stated Cannabis users can not be armed, not cannabis farmers, processors, extractors or distributors.

You can’t just have income equality because people want it. That would mean women would have to start doing other jobs. It has been shown time and time again that the pay gap of about .15-.18 has more to do with the fact that men work different jobs and work longer hours. How many times do we have to go over this? Also, men do all the dangerous jobs. There are fewer women who are willing to make that sacrifice, and sacrifice their family.

Imagine that we were given two completely different and unique kinds of humans, made to harness the best of both worlds, when united for a greater cause than themselves.

*Children*

We’ve failed to see our purpose is primarily to our family /our God($), and everything else is prioritized as needed.

The shifting moral compass as witnessed /generated by so many as a result of an unhealthy disconnect from our source.

I pray that we become more selective of what goes in every aspect of our bodies.

the first douchebag to get himself shot, you know, the convicted pedophile, was also chasing him and throwing shit at him, screaming profanities, then trying to grab his gun. That’s why he got shot! The second two, both communist scumbag felons with violent rap sheets, were not altruistic hero’s trying to stop a murderer. Nice try though. If only all the rioters had stayed at home too. Hindsight is simple.

Not that it matters, but all three that were shot had criminal records (criminal records are public just search) and the one shot in the arm was a felon and should not have been in possession of a firearm.

Sid has been banned and is not a commenter here. Insulting people who are not commenters is not against the rules.

Unless, of course, P*** W***lies is Sid like Brian contends…then, of course, I would have to ban P*** W***lies

Also, P*** W***lies is being fairly insulting himself, in the court of me, I debated whether to delete his comment, I finally decided to leave it up as while mean strictly speaking I decided it wasn’t an insult. Then when Brian responded, again, I debated over whether I should leave Brian’s comment up because I also suspect P*** W***lies of being Sid. But then I ruled as above.

But, this has been the case with Sid in the past, he instigates issues and then I spend way too much time dealing with the comment section. P*** W***lies has been increasingly acting like Sid.

Brian is no angel. He gets put on moderation fairly regularly but he doesn’t rise to the manipulation of Sid.

So was the guy who got part of his arm blown off but the only difference was the man shot was a multiple felony who DEFINITELY wasn’t allowed to own that gun while Kyle could. Because of Wi law he was legally allowed to be carrying his rifle. The difference is the dirt bag who lost his bicep pretending to surrender and then rushed Kyle, which is an illegal act of war, and drew on him with his illegal handgun but Kyle was faster. ✌️

Imagine how we frame an argument.

Imagine who is defending what.

Imagine who was getting assaulted.

You should not have to set yourself on fire to keep others ignorant and apathetic.

Since when have young adults been put into situations where they’ve shown strength, courage and wisdom, beyond their years, and then told they aren’t allowed to defend themselves.

A sick/ immature society, hell bent on extending adolescence at any costs.

How many of our grandparents /parents worked on the farm at 8/9/10 years old, because food security is number 1 in everyone’s lives.

We’ve forgotten where we came from, and on who’s shoulders we are privileged to stand on.

If they are under 18 once upon a time that was their parents decision.

Now the Nanny State decides what’s right for you child, you get to pay to raise your children but the State decides what they can or can’t do. If you don’t accommodate the State well, there’s always CPS.

I’ve heard that the teachers have now decided to have parents sign an agreement NOT to look at the identity politics courses they are teaching while they’re schooling kids at home on the net.

If you are defending your own property you may yse a gun in self defense. It is patently illegal to cross state lines as a minor with a gun to join up with others masquaradeing or appropriating the authority of designated Law Enforcement. That is why kylie will go to jail for murder, and his mommy will likely be charged as an accessory, as “militia” wannabees who encouraged him. The police who ignored or encouraged him were derelict in performing their duties… But whats new?

Ullr Rover
Guest
Ullr Rover

Nope. He didn’t cross state lines with the rifle. He got it in Wisconsin. .. based on available information. And, most importantly, he didn’t kill anyone defending property; he killed 2 people defending himself from a threat of great bodily harm or death.

b.

Evidently that great bodily harm he was defending himself against may have been a coordinated effort by the police and the militia to force protesters into dangerous contact with the militia. The militia are reported to have been prepared to, in planned “self defense,” deal with the protesters.

“The officer thanks the men for their help, though they are clearly civilians in violation of the city’s 8 p.m. curfew.”

https://news.yahoo.com/witnesses-describe-night-kyle-rittenhouse-090034526.html

If this is so, do you support his right of “self defense?” Your prejudices led you down the right path on the brutal kicking assault of the man in Portland. Do you trust your prejudices in all things? Your evidence is usually pretty good.

Can we coordinate an ambush, wait for the ambushed to draw their weapons (or weaponize their skateboards) then kill them?

Shaun king has zero credibility. I’d like to see or hear something that backs up 9 seconds with zero context… there soul be video of the cops actually doing that. Regardless, as far as I understand it, Kyle was a few blocks away from other armed citizens which is how he got in the predicament to begin with.

The first shooting isn’t 100% clear, but it is clear that Kyle was retreating and eyewitness testimony says he was cornered. The 2 subsequent shootings are clearly self-defense. He was in full retreat. I predict a plea down to a weapons charge or the whole thing, quietly, dropped.

If there was coordination, therefore a “conspiracy” between the police and the militia, you accept self-defense of a (perhaps unwitting) co conspirator as a defense? And the stance of the police towards the gun toting militia in the face of their violation of a curfew clearly establishes coordination with those engaged in a prohibited activity.
I can’t imagine that your prejudices about who is “on your team” don’t sway your opinion on that. Leading with the Shaun King comment reinforces my suspicion of your biases.
I agree that Shaun King is only a source that I would accept as definitive if backed up by other evidence. Same with most sources, really, but he is clearly a PR motivated advocate.

You’re adding information into the scenario for which there is no corroborating evidence. Perhaps the first guy was being chased by a dragon and he tried to grab Kyle’s gun to shoot the dragon and it was all a terrible misunderstanding.

I’m basing my opinion on a preponderance of video evidence. If the rolls were reversed and Kyle was BLM inc I’d have same opinion.

Read the article. I don’t think I’m adding, although I am making a particular case.
1)”Early in the evening, before he became stranded in the search for his car, Jeremiah got into an argument with one of them. Jeremiah was talking to a reporter when an angry woman interrupted, telling him she was tired of people like him burning things down. As he argued he’d done no such thing, an armed man came up and shoved him.

“Be ready,” Jeremiah recalls the man saying. “If you come toward us, we’re gonna open fire.”

“The attitude of law enforcement was different that night, too, several people who have attended numerous protests told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. On Sunday and Monday, police had allowed demonstrators to linger in the park. But on Tuesday, what seemed like hundreds more cops than before stood shoulder to shoulder and forced them out. Several armored vehicles rolled through the grass.”

2) “Jeremiah later watched a video shot late Tuesday night that shows a law enforcement officer in an armored vehicle giving bottles of water to a group of armed men that included Rittenhouse. The officer thanks the men for their help, though they are clearly civilians in violation of the city’s 8 p.m. curfew.

“We appreciate you guys,” the officer on the video says. “We really do.”

3)”In another clip, an unidentified armed white man in a baseball cap and a ballistic vest – an unofficial uniform of the self-styled militias – says this: “You know what the cops told us today? They were like, ‘We’re gonna push ‘em down by you, ’cause you can deal with them and then we’re gonna leave.'”

Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth has said he did not deputize citizens and would never do so. Police Chief Daniel Miskinis didn’t respond to the Journal Sentinel’s question about whether he was cooperating with the Kenosha Guard.”

I know, Shaun King posted the video, that makes it suspect. It does not make it untrue. The thrust of the statements by other witnesses to and participants in the events, and the recorded video of the police speaking with the armed curfew defiers, suggests that a coordinated effort was being staged. If it was a coordinated effort that involved illegal activity and the use or threat of violence, it is illegal. It is also a conspiracy.

Out of 2,870 black people shot in 2016, 2,570 were shot by black people, not cops.
The white folk really didn’t fare any better at 3,499 and 2,854.
However, when you consider how many more whites there are than blacks: well what’s that say about the state of affairs?!

For the period 2015-2016, the Washington Post reported,

“U.S. police officers have shot and killed the exact same number of unarmed white people as they have unarmed black people: 50 each. But because the white population is approximately five times larger than the black population, that means unarmed black Americans were five times as likely as unarmed white Americans to be shot and killed by a police officer.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2016/07/11/arent-more-white-people-than-black-people-killed-by-police-yes-but-no/

When the WaPo began tracking police fatal shootings of citizens, it found that only about half of the shootings were being reported by federal authorities. In the five years since, police have killed an average of about 1000 citizens per year: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/investigations/police-shootings-database/

The average number of justifiable homicides by non law enforcement shooters in the U.S. runs around 250+/- per year. A conservative estimate of the number of firearms stolen from individual gun owners runs 175,000 to 200,000 a year with some estimates much higher. There is a river a guns flowing into criminal hands due to careless gun owners who fail to secure their weapons. The dirty side of gun ownership.

Let me correct you:
“There is a river a guns flowing into criminal hands due to…” a general disrespect of private property and an attitude of entitlement.

Keeping my firearms in a locked house should be secure. Now I have to trigger lock them in a safe, in a locked closet, in a locked house behind a locked gate. And if I need to use them in a pinch… I’m too slow and dead.

It’s not just the criminals that create the problem. It’s also people with attitudes, that refuse to recognize a spade is a spade, just to further a very sick and twisted agenda. That agenda being; PICK A PROBLEM AND BLAME IT ON LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.
Cowards love the practice, because they know there are idiots in the wings that will listen to them and do the dirty work they don’t have the balls to do themselves. Vultures watching the jackals!

Knowing “who to blame” has never solved any problem, no matter from which side of an argument the blame is fixed. My wise old friend keeps quoting her Quaker grandmother: Fix the problem, not the blame.

Can’t fix a problem when when you don’t know what causes it- ie what to blame. But knowing that is only the first step. Doin something about it is the next.

“Cause = blame.” Medieval reasoning at its best!
I suppose that explains the medieval social solutions you propose. And to look at a chain of causes would be too taxing. Simply look to your prejudices; find the obvious causes– someone or something or some idea you don’t like– attack them. That will “fix the problem.” Emotional satisfaction for you– there that’s a solution.

And here I am doing the same thing. I don’t know which of us I find more frustrating.

Why did he cause a billion in damages, riot for several months, cause 30 plus deaths, threaten political leaders with death who didn’t agree with his cause all in an election year quite possibly with the goal of influencing a national election that’ll impact the world? Oh no he killed a couple of jackasses that were assaulting him and left him no retreat. He’ll be tried as an adult so In my mind he was fine making adult decisions. If you don’t like that then you should support him being tried as a minor. Pick one or the other. Personally I don’t care which as it appears to be largely self defense

To me if the police pull out of an area leaving citizens defenseless, they have breached their part of our “society contract” we pay taxes without much of a say for these services of a civilized society. In my opinion, if police abandon you, play by Afghanistan rules, why not? There’s no law if the law runs. You want to burn down my business? Cool. You aren’t going to like what I’m going to do. “Law and Order” “Vote Donald Trump”

Talk about your oxymoronic statement, that right there is frickin’ hilarious. I’d make a list of all the folks Trump had working for him that have been convicted or plead guilty, a list of all the things he’s tried to do as president that have been ruled illegal, or the list of convictions he has pardoned for no reason other than those convicted support him, but we don’t have that much room on the Internet.

Trump doesn’t give a rat’s ass about law and order, he only likes to pay lip service to it because his base support is willing to overlook all of his misdeeds. He has repeatedly stated that the laws don’t apply to him (they do) and folks like you let him get away with it.

The term “radical left” doesn’t mean anything when you apply it to everyone who isn’t a die-hard Trump worshipper.

Most of the folks investigating and prosecuting Trump’s appointees and employees (outside Congress at least) are Republicans, Independents, or completely apolitical.

Such terms are just a direct reflection of people who condemn everyone not in their own political camp as “far ring wing nuts.” Making up nonsense is not science. All that it would have taken to have Trump never been elected was to put up a candidate who was not a crook herself so contemptuous of Americans. Yet the “compromise” candidate the same fools think to use as their left wing Trojan Horse to fix the problem is more of the same. The complaint is just calling your own kettle calling the pot black.

Speaking of lip service….

“I think this is a blind spot for Democrats. I think Democrats are ignoring this problem or hoping that it will go away, and it’s not going to go away,” Lemon said. The sound of jaws falling open was heard in many areas following that announcement. Don then let slip what was motivating his turnabout on the issue — ”It’s showing up in the polling. It’s showing up in focus groups.’’

The Democrats and their allies in the media have been pushing this call for unrest with the common goal of having it reflect on President Trump. They expected to have the narrative of an entire nation on fire — both physically and socially — to reflect poorly on the President in November. It would be a campaign issue of their own making. But they never factored that a fabricated social outrage would hold less interest to voters than their own personal safety.

next….

Bill Maher to Joy Reid: ‘Very nervous’ about Biden’s chances after GOP convention.

next…..

The New York Times ran an article Wednesday about how voters in Wisconsin are responding to the riots by switching their support to Donald Trump. This is a very strange thing to see in the progressive Gray Lady. Anybody who follows the paper and its politics closely knows exactly what is happening here. It is a desperate plea to Democrats to change their tune on the violence sweeping across American cities.
