Congressman’s Eureka Blood Drive Tomorrow

Press release from the Northern California Community Blood Bank:

2^nd District Congressman Jared Huffman is encouraging healthy members of the North Coast community
to come out to the Northern California Community Blood Bank on Wednesday, August 12^th to donate blood.“Critical blood supplies in the US have taken a hit during the coronavirus
pandemic. I’m co-hosting a blood drive with the Northern California
Community Blood Bank on August 12^th”.Blood collections have been hampered over recent months by the lack
of access to highly effective campus blood drives which, in normal years,
provide nearly a quarter of Humboldt and Del Norte donations. With
social distancing measures in place on bloodmobiles the number of donors
that can be served at mobile blood drives has been severely curtailed
making In-House blood drives such as this increasingly important.

The blood bank encourages appointments, which can be made at www.nccbb.net/appointments.html but will welcome walk-ins, time permitting.
