MET Conducting Aerial Investigations This Week
“This week, Sheriff’s MET deputies conducted aerial investigations throughout the county utilizing a helicopter,” Samantha Karges of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office confirmed this morning.
We’d requested information on what appeared to helicopter overflights in the Whitethorn area and a convoy possibly associated with a helicopter out in the Dinsmore area. Karges didn’t provide any more specifics at this time.
On Monday, though, a reader provided us with photos of vehicles he saw in Garberville. He described them as a “fuel truck…a marked us forest service truck and an unmarked 4 door Chevy.”
He said, “I would guess this…is going to support the operations with fuel in remote locations.”
To our understanding, in order to get search warrants, deputies have to see marijuana growing with their own eyes so they often schedule flights within a short time of planning to serve the warrants. Karges did not however, confirm these flights were related to marijuana operations.

A&P Helicopters based out of Richvale by Sac, has Bell 206’s B3 and L3, UH1 slick,and a Hughes 500D. Paint schemes are not anything like military. Gville does not have Jet A so contractors must have a refuel truck and possibly a field mech with them during deployment.

Even after you pay them 150 bucks for them to tell you what you need in permitting, you pay to start the project, then you get head deep into it for them to say you need more stuff not mentioned in the first meeting you paid for. Then you make the changes, get biological surveys, engineering, moving buildings , take down greenhouses. Comply with all their requirements. Humboldt county takes the money and never gives you your permit. Their blatant lies like, “If you get your paperwork and money in by 12/31/2019 you will be growing by spring.” Oh ya all the permit fee’s are non refundable even if denied or you can’t afford to keep paying more money for more BS permits and rearrange your property again because they are corrupt .
What is your point “Corrupt county”? You just described the system all us business owners go through to start a business or grow a business larger. The fees and paperwork are all associated with all the laws and regulations that this State has voted for over the last several decades. Most of it environmental regulations voted on by the environmentalists and liberals located all over this County.

Total shake down, and now they have names.
Typically here in Mendocino county it’s a contracted helicopter through A&P along with that truck, tail number N502HB. Blue and white Hughes 500D. Same one they’ve used for quite a few years now. It’ll pop up on Flightradar24 from time to time. Looked like the “Island” was a hot spot for flights this last week for the humboldt side. Lots of flight action on the trinity side last week.

I don’t want anyone to get busted, but it sure would be fun to have them fly my neighbors. They have it way too easy right now. Zero MTRC, zero state taxes being paid, zero worry about enforcement and all with no state permit. This is happening at the same time I’m scared I will get an abatement for my legal 6. I use these comments as therapy to keep me from reacting to the shitty neighbors. They are all extraction at this point, with no giving back. Using illegal water and completely destroying the road that they put zero effort into. When in the hell is the county going to enforce the rules on these people? How hard is it? Send everyone a letter that has a county permit advising them that cultivating without a state permit is illegal and they will face the same fines as homesteads getting abatements. Why the special treatment?
Why the special treatment?? They pay fees. It’s all about the $$$ with the County. I’ve seen permitted folks that weren’t supposed to plant yet because of no state licence , plant anyways, then months later they get their state and their illegal plants magically turn legal.
County knew they had illegal plants growing.

I’ve lived in this county for a long time and I don’t know anyone that is happy with their “legal” neighbors, especially if the grow is close by. And yes, they usually have an inordinate amount of traffic. And yes, they don’t one fuck about the impact they have.
That’s the duh moment still to figure out and keep in check. Most so called legal farms only put 25% through the legal market and the other, well the other out the back door.
I completely agree with you. I have the same problem. Ruin a category 1 maybe 2 road and the county still let’s them grow. Sucks.

“Permit what Permit” you obviously need to drop the dime on this grow site that is located next to you. If they are truly doing what you are saying to the environment you have an obligation as a member of this community to do something about it, end of story!
It all depends on who you know, seen it happen time and time again. Someone doesn’t like the answer some unqualified twerp planner gives them, makes a call and magically they have a permit a week later. Bullshit corruption at its finest with no oversight and no repercussions, Cliff Johnson and John Ford need to go.
Or it goes in the opposite direction and their Planner draws up a site plant with overblown square footage for the property and neighborhood, the growers get away with the obscene sq footage and sell on the black market for a year or two before the county gets around to assigning them a realistic amount of sq.ft. Of course the county collects the fees and taxes off of the sq footage of black market weed.

Why do they fly when they have such up to date satellite images? It’s got to be very expensive.
Because they need a physical witness of the growing cannabis to get.the permit.
Also, a lot of these MET types are staving of the full symptoms of their PTSD by maintaining a state of militarized conflict. For lots of young men in this country, armed conflict has become their safe space
Most grows are in greenhouses so that doesn’t make sense. Is this just a way to use up funding maybe? I always thought it was somewhat about intimidation.

They were over our area on fickle hill rd for a good hour to an hour and a half. A circling pattern with hovers over each place. CREEPY.
Too bad the hillbillys up here are too ignorant to realize their civil rights are being violated and to take these criminals to court and fight these terrorist with the legal system.
