Eight New Positive Cases in Humboldt County on July 15

Press release from Humboldt County COVID-19 – Joint Information Center:

Eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported today, bringing to 175 the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus.

Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich noted the inherent risk associated with travel during a pandemic and the potential for increased spread locally. In fact, eight recently diagnosed cases were determined to have been acquired through travel to an area outside of the county.

“Any travel is risky right now, not just to the traveler but to our entire community,” Dr. Frankovich said. “We’ve seen several clusters that started with a single person or group of people acquiring the virus through travel. Right now the safest thing to do is to postpone or cancel travel whenever possible.”

Just wait until all this temporary lockdown and shutdown comes home to your doorstep.

People are so damn ignorant and have become so comfortable with their modern amenities.

Let Bill Gates thin this herd….

Wow , what a spike! Don’t travel! So if tomorrow’s number is zero , do we promote travel? One in the hospital, infections up, hospitalizations down. Why not tell the real story?

The real story is staring us in the face. We just have been sold too many happy endings from the satanic cult of personality in Hollys wood…

We no longer are capable of Trusting our own judgement and abilities, so we crave that warm cozy blanket of our trusted experts…no one is liable for your health and safety, just look at 90 percent of the food / drink in the markets.

Killing them softly couldn’t be a better way of describing y/our childish belief that the agenda has your best interests at heart.

Keep drinking that Monsanto koolaid sweetened with HFCS.

We’ve been taught to not trust ourselves compared to those useful idiot experts pulling down 6 figures to tow the company line.

Yeah, they need to get busy cleaning house, cause these death panels have been sentencing old folks to death for almost 5 months, and you keep choking on the kool-aid.

Same stuff, day after day.

More cases and no deaths.

The young and strong get the virus but, don’t die. It’s been that way since January.

The elderly are sheltering in place. Lock your doors granny.

It’s been that way since the beginning of human history.

An n95 mask has holes that are 3 microns big, the virus is .75 microns big. Your masks aren’t doing a thing and your stupid bandanas are doing even less

We really need to know how many of the 175 confirmed cases had been wearing their mask consistently.Something tells me that mask aren’t giving the level of protection that a lot of people believe. If we could do a quick study of infection rates for mask user’s vs non mask something tell me one wouldn’t see much difference. And yes, I am a construction guy not a viral disease specialist.

Are you so clueless that you haven’t realized that the mask is to protect others not you. It has been a fact for months but people continue to think that they are protecting themselves by masking. How often can that fact be repeated without anybody listening.

There’s also the new notion that says masks are a form of expression. After all, it’s right there on the point of your nose.

Question is, what would you like to have your mask say about you?

I guess I didn’t get my idea across, If mask wearing people only came in contact with other mask wearing people I wonder how much difference in infection rate would there be vs no mask on either person.

Well Festus if masks weren’t affective way more health care workers would be getting sick.

No Google NW?

More than 60,000 health care workers have been infected, and close to 300 have died from COVID-19, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

High estimate on this underreported stat is that 1 OUT OF 5 out of all infected are HEALTHCARE WORKERS.

Masks are “Killin It .”

Given that I’m an hour out of town, and
Given that it’s a three week wait to be tested (and I’m still not sure how much its gonna cost me), and
Given that it’s going to be at least a week (if ever) before the results come back,
I think I’ll just stay home and be sick without any testing or investigation. Easier that way, less likely to share my misery with the world.
I wear a mask. I wash my hands. I rarely go anywhere except to buy food and only in stores which have always required masks. My post office runs tend to occur after hours…
It’s likely that, assuming the worst, what I’ve been dealing with for the past few days came in a package which I didn’t disinfect adequately before opening.
I live alone. I’ve got plenty of food to last, given the appetite I’m showing.

And you’re pretty sure it’s Covid? If so, i think you can get priority testing.
But a lot of people think they have it, because it’s all everyone’s talking about, when they don’t. There are other things that could treat you pretty much the same way, at least at first. Why not call in for info on the tests, given your symptoms, if you want to know what’s up?

Lauracooskey. Thank you for your concern.
I have no idea what it is. The fever is fairly low, all things considered, but I get waves of symptoms that leave me reeling for a few hours and then slack off. I’ve had influenza that was worse.
Priority Testing still requires that I Go Somewhere (exposure, exposure, and I get to do the driving) and guarantees that I’ll have some sort of billing when this is all over. I’m a walking pre-existing condition and I’m not totally incapacitated — yet.
Yes, there is someone who will check on me, but I’m pretty much on my own. I have a standing DNR.
Yes, it could be a lot of other things, is there an intestinal flu going around? Would that give me asthma and heart palpitations? I know an intestinal flu would give me the gut symptoms, drop the appetite, possibly contribute to brain fog…
It’s not the water, I drink only distilled water. I cook for myself from fresh ingredients. I am very careful about food.
Since I’m a diehard alternative medicine sort, I AM treating it with the same non-invasive, unconventional format that I used to eliminate Bowel Cancers two years ago, just aiming the treatment at COVID not cancers. I believe that’s why I’m still able to argue the point….
As far as I’m concerned, TESTING should be a fast turnaround and the priorities should be people working in service positions, in stores, truck drivers — folks who can’t avoid others because they do essential work. And they shouldn’t be responsible for the costs of these tests, under the circumstances — but I’ve always supported Universal Healthcare.
I posted earlier to bring out the fact that the testing is essentially meaningless in the way it is being done. Three weeks out? Ten days (if at all) for the results? PEOPLE DIE OF COVID IN LESS TIME THAN THAT while shedding viral matter the whole time.
I’ll wait for antibody testing and see what I had when it’s over.

Sorry to read about it Numberless. Start up with 5,000 IU per day vitamin D3, add in some zinc to boot, at least 10-12 mg per day. Get some quinine where possible, also serrapeptase for your arteries. Let Kym know and I will forward to you through her on my personal e-mail a possible cure.

Posting it on here would be a waste.

64.7k new cases today in the US, the highest one day total ever, and the highest 7 day average ever. Yet what is still the same is that the scientists and medical professionals who are working feverishly to contain this thing all say the same thing, no one knows what this virus is going to do because it’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

How come then there are so many on this forum who claim they know exactly what is going on, how we should respond and what the future will bring. Cause we don’t. Not you, not me, not nobody.

So here is my prediction for the next few months. This second part of the first wave will start to lay down in a couple of weeks, followed by a month (or so) of lowered infection rates. Then the real second wave will hit and it’s not going to be pretty. Younger folks will start seeing their hospitalization and death rates rise exponentially, further mutations will create hell and the deniers will continue to spread the virus.

Yes, that’s all just guesswork and I’ll revisit this in a few months to see how close or far it was from reality. If it’s way off and the prediction that this thing will disappear comes true, I’ll put on my asbestos suit and you all can fire away.

You reported a few days ago 66.6 k ,highest number of infections. So which lie are you sticking with? If you could just read into what all the numbers mean, then we might have something. Have a good night

Sorry, got that backwards. It was 67.4k. I write too fast.

And by the way sharpie, I don’t lie, especially about something like whether or not there is a virus. But as I keep telling you LR you’re letting this thing get to you and if you would practice meditation you’d feel a whole lot better. Much better than cramming a dead cow down your throat.

Unusual, yes. Never seen before, nonsense. Hype of unusual proportions.
The only characteristic of this virus that I don’t know of having been seen before is that it is remarkably non-transmissable by children compared to adults.

The article is about Humboldt virus infections. Why would you bet on the nationwide numbers which are way different? Apples and oranges.
