Hope it stays that way.

Came across another article where patients got covid twice.

https://www.vox.com/2020/7/12/21321653/getting-covid-19-twice-reinfection-antibody-herd-immunity

If immunity isn’t guaranteed then masks may be the only way to beat this thing down.

I read an article on the side of the box that my masks came in that said they are useless against a virus. I’m sure the majority of us has read it but choose to ignore it.

That might be more of a legal liability thing, than a scientific statement on efficacy.

Just a thought…

There are numerous studies that have been done that show that masks are effective at keeping an infected person from being a spreader. Thats their main purpose. It is very much less effective if you dont have the virus and are thinking that a mask will save you from catching it. But even in that instance it appears that masks can help to a certain extent. Its all about not getting a dose of the virus that breaks through immune defenses.

I think of it in terms of every little bit helps. And I hate wearing masks.

But Im just going by what the latest info is. The way this things been going we could wake up tomorrow and the headlines read ‘Masks proved to do more harm than good’.

I was in a local business last week and everyone did a awesome job of wearing a mask. I was there around 5 hours, in that 5 hours I watched 30 plus people adjusting their masks repeatedly along with myself. So much face touching can’t be beneficial. No hand sanitizer, no hand washing, just alot of face touching.

IMHO, the strategy is to keep the new cases at a manageable treatment rate. If we all were to show up at the emergency room at once the health care providers would be overwhelmed. It’s fully expected that we will all contract this virus eventually with varying severity. With that in mind the mask isn’t expected to fully contain and eradicate the virus, just slow the spread enough, hopefully, so as to keep it manageable. I social distance, wear a mask when I go into a shop, and I sanitize my hands. I do these things because I decided a long time ago that in each situation I have a choice to be part of the problem or part of the solution. I try always to choose the latter.
