Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

Water intakeOn May 27, 2020, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served three search warrants to investigate illegal cannabis cultivation in the Dinsmore area. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife and Humboldt County Code Enforcement assisted in the service of the warrant.

Three parcels were investigated during the service of the warrant. The parcels did not possess the required county permit and state license to cultivate cannabis commercially.

Assisting agencies found the following violations:

Nine water diversion violations (up to $8,000 fine per day, per violation)
Commercial cannabis ordinance violations (up to $10,000 fine per day)
Additional violations with civil fines are expected to be filed by the assisting agencies.

No arrests were made during the service of the warrant. The case will be forwarded to the DA’s Office for review.

Anyone with information about this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.

Great job to all law enforcement involved! Everyone knows illegal marijuana spreads covid19 so it’s best to knock this nonsense off before it gets out of hand.

Why is there never a word from E.P.I.C., Earth First, Environmental Protection Fund or one of the other thousand enviro groups ??

Because there’s no way for them to make money off of it. E.P.I.C.s business model is to sue 10 or more logging companies at a time and see what sticks. If they win one case that allows them to keep operating. It’s kind of sad. Their ideals about saving the environment take a back seat to making money. In the end, they’re still just lawyers.

EPIC?! They became a front for weed growers and dealers. That happened awhile ago- back in the green rush. They were awesome and good for many years before that. Remember when [edit] got busted in Fieldbrook? That was the tip of the iceberg of their conversion to accommodating big-time grower friends and turning a blind eye to watershed destruction…Now she’s a consultant for mega-grow permit pansies. And EPIC? Not sure they do anything relevant anymore….

1. It wasnt Natalyn DeLapp is was Amber Jamieson

2. Natakyn DeLapp is not a consultant for anyone she is the operations director for The Humboldt County Growers Alliance which is a trade association not a consulting firm.

It is a disservice to us all to have the facts of 3 cases jumbled together. Take the water violations, were they on one parcel, 3 on each, it’s not possible to make sense of things from this press release. And speaking of the water violations, what were they? Some “violations” are simply not having a license to do what you could legally do with a license. That’s different from polluting a stream or taking water needed by wildlife. The cannabis violations @$10k a day are just nonsense. They were abated by the Deputies. If the cops do what’s right the growers will be charged in court where they can get something like justice, instead of the county’s abatement procedures. And what of the land owners if they are not the growers. They’ll get unjustly stuck with the civil penalties, not the growers. The press release with its “approximately 9910 plants” (could have been 9913, right?) simply does not give the public the facts needed to assess and understand what happened.

After 100 it really doesn’t mske much difference. I know ton of people thst do well on 50 plants a year. 3lb plants minimun if you treat em right. Even at the low of $500 that’s $75,000. Take off $10,000 for expenses and that’s $65,000 tax free dollars. A decent living if you skip the $50,000 growdozer trucks and the 3 month vacations in Hawaii. Even enough left to donate to the local Fire Station and the PTA. Anyone with 9,000 plants and stealing water to boot needs to be shipped outta here.
