One New Confirmed COVID Case on May 14; Another Alder Bay Staff Member Is Positive

Press release from Humboldt County COVID19 – Joint Information Center:

Public Health Lab report

Humboldt County’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is now 68 as one additional positive was confirmed today.

Testing conducted by the Public Health Branch at Alder Bay Assisted Living found one person who provided care at the facility has become positive for the virus. Ongoing testing of staff and residents will continue.

Contact investigations determined one previous case was acquired through travel outside of the area, and another was acquired through community transmission. Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich said, “Travel will be an ongoing concern, but the virus is here in Humboldt County and circulating in our community. We should all continue to practice social distancing and other measures that can decrease transmission risk as businesses start to reopen.” Two cases remain under investigation.

I agree, the doctors in Humboldt aren’t making enough money. St Joes needs more money. Lets all get sick and support the local medical field.

Borderline comment. Maybe even a little too far.
It suggests being a threat to oneself and others is a good idea.
Bad medical advice.
All red flags.

There is no difference in listening to bad advice from none Elected officials.

The elected representatives think they are doing the right things by crushing the civil liberties, so they can push the medical tyranny on healthy people.

🕯🌳How do you know who’s healthy or not unless they get tested. It those that are afraid to be tested that keep the county in the dark ages. 🖖🌍🐸🇺🇸🇺🇸 I’m glad to hear the transit system is going back to normal next week. That should bring out some new cases. 🖖🌍🐸

“Never let a good disaster go to waste”

Now what is the best interpretation for this?

The non-elected official you refer to is highly educated in science, medicine and health. Her views are in line with scientists and doctors all over the world. I choose to follow her advice. I choose to ignore the advice of agitated internet commentators.

What a pile of horseshit. Science would say that at the first sign of a possible pandemic everyone should have been ordered to wear a mask, instead the experts ALL told you NOT TO WEAR A MASK during the most critical phase of spread, from WHO, down to the CDC, down to Dr. Frankovich. This was a deliberate spread, do not fool yourself. It was the dumbest fucking thing I have ever seen. This is a very low level mortality disease, it’s threat is to the healthcare system being overwhelmed, that is it. Do you know how much of your DNA comes from viruses? It is part of our evolution. We have amazing immune systems and have handled as a species way more gnarly diseases. The most important thing is to flatten the curve (with early masking???) to save the medical system and keep everything else, LIKE THE ECONOMY, healthy so that we have a functioning society. Instead, Dr. Frankovich, with hardly any infections and ZERO risk to the healthcare system killed the fucking economy and crushed our civil liberties! There was absolutely no reason to close our economy! Dr, Frankovich and all the other experts have been an absolute fucking disaster! Everything you know is gone.

First of all, I get your frustration – life as we knew it is definitely over and that sucks. We could argue all day over who or what is to blame, but that doesn’t change the situation we find ourselves in. Secondly, to add to the frustration, it seems that the jury is still out on whether masks help or hinder or do nothing at all – I wear one because it seems logical to keep my snot to myself. But, to get back to the original subject of this thread: personally, when it comes to protecting my health and the health of my family, I choose to follow the advice of scientists and public health officials and I stay home – I am no more inclined to willingly expose myself to CoVid than I am to any other virus. Stay well!

Thank you for nothing going forward. Please tell a surgeon your opinion on masks, the cornerstone of modern medicine. Your opinion is hazard, shut the fuck up. I am not joking, Masks are unproven? Stupidity and blind faith in authority is what we need to worry about. Everything that has brought us to this point has been totally, and more importantly, preventable under standard epidemically logic and procedural standards thrown in the trash…this is not natural, this is purposely spread, wake up.

Surgical masks have been studied. Cloth masks for the purpose of preventing community spread have not been studied. So therefore the jury is still out. I am sorry I have made you so angry as to tell me that I am stupid and dangerous. However, your rage and insults will not make me change my mind – maybe you can try a different approach?

Why don’t they publish how many died of pneumonia, traffic accidents, cancer, heart disease, diabetes etc? Let US make a decision how the virus relates to other cause of death.

But if that is done people will be able to put a REAL look at this virus in relation to other causes.

IF you REALLY want to be scared of GOVT over reach look up the House bill HR6666 and see how they will impact your future, your rights & your life!

HR 6666 is a nasty over reach to save you???

And you forgot people who die of old age. That number is higher than most of the reasons you cited. Even in Humboldt County five to seven people on average die of a variety of reasons weekly. That’s over 300 people per year. Over 16,000 Americans die every year from being murdered. Today over 86,000 Americans died from the convid-19. I fail to see your argument. And to HR 6666; it hasn’t been voted on yet so it hasn’t passed and even if it was no Storm Trooper medical personnel will not be kicking down your front door to force you to comply.
