Two months after the last live pitch was thrown on the North Coast, baseball is set to make a return in the coming days.

On Tuesday night, the Humboldt Eagles board voted to begin practice next week, albeit with “very restricted conditions,” according to 19U head coach Matt Tomlin.

“We’re going to be really careful and do it right,” Tomlin said. “And that’s the biggest thing the board stressed.”

Restrictions will include having less than 10 players on a field at the same time, and all of them working out in separate stations to maintain social distancing.

Will you be testing? If not, then you seriously need to think about the healthcare workers that you will be impacting when things don’t go well.

This fake ass pandemic has you triggered. What about the health care professionals??? They have seen a total of 8 covid hospitalizations over the last 2 months. Really overwhelmed. St. Joe’s dosent even use that covid tent anymore. Lay off the CNN and get a clue. I’ve been playing basketball for weeks. No issues. I don’t wear a mask. No issues. Please direct your liberal talking points to someone who cares

Sounds like you are the triggered one. The original comment said nothing about overwhelmed hospitals. You logic is flawed. It is a poor as stating I am alive, I don’t wear a seat belt, therefore seatbelts don’t save lives.

No. Your forced to wear a seatbelt through the use of fines and imprisonment. You have no choice.

Why, will the hospitals have to hire some of their workers back?

Well there you go, just don’t talk about doing anything because there are still people that think doing nothing is making them a hero. Pathetic world we are living in.

Wow. Have they even checked w county and health dept? How can they hold practice when participation in team sports is prohibited. I though American Legion just cancelled the season nationwide. Why risk the health of these athletes (Kids)? I’m super disappointed in them. Props to the other local legion teams for putting safety of the players First.
