UPDATE: Federal Construction Project Rescheduled to Begin NEXT TUESDAY

Attention to motorists that use Route 36 in Humboldt County, we’ve been notified that the federal highway project near Dinsmore will resume Thursday, May 14 with four-hour closures.

As you may remember from previous summers, closures will occur weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Fridays the feds and their contractors will wrap up their work a little earlier at 3 p.m.

This job has been subject to countless delays and is an ugly mess. It should have been finished by now. Another summer of major traffic delays with no end in sight.

Haven’t been on 36 for awhile. I’m wondering, if you miss the shut down time, what do folks do? Are there porta-Johns, Taco trucks? What if you arrive at the road block at ,say, 1:02?
