Over 17,000 Plants Eradicated at Miranda Property Today, Says Sheriff’s Office
This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On May 11, 2020, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served one search warrant to investigate illegal cannabis cultivation on Frances Grove Lane in Miranda. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Humboldt County Code Enforcement and Humboldt County Environmental Health and HAZMAT Unit assisted in the service of the warrant.
One parcel was investigated during the service of the warrant. The parcel did not possess the required county permit and state license to cultivate cannabis commercially.
During the service of the warrant, deputies eradicated approximately 17,108 growing cannabis plants.
Assisting agencies found the following violations:
- Commercial cannabis ordinance violations (up to $10,000 fine per day)
- Building without a permit violations (up to $10,000 fine per day, per violation)
Additional violations with civil fines are expected to be filed by the assisting agencies.
No arrests were made during the service of the warrant. The case will be forwarded to the DA’s Office for review.
Anyone with information about this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.

Forwarded to the DA for review haha what a load of shi*.
Whatever you think about enforcement ,criminal prosecution for growing is over. Felony Marijuana convictions cleared by the tens of thousand. Civil liabilities probably can scare some percentage of scofflaws ,but not all- long live the scofflaws!
https://www.npr.org/2020/02/23/808575012/algorithm-targets-marijuana-convictions-eligible-to-be-cleared
Since launching the program, Code for America has helped reduce or dismiss about 85,000 marijuana-related convictions in California, according to Toran-Burrell.
“The alternative would be that a district attorney would have to cull through hundreds of thousands of lines of conviction data to determine eligibility for each of the convictions that might be eligible,” Toran-Burrell told NPR’s Weekend Edition.
“This technology allows district attorneys to do this in an incredibly streamlined way,” she said.
Morons without permits are still growing in greenhouses? Lol
Those guys are very visible from the salmon creek road , I am very surprised they have been operating without a permit and have gone this long . I wonder if they lost their permit or they just got away with it for this long .
i thought they were targeting parcels with environmental violations. are these raids complaint driven?
Thank you dope growers for bringing in trimagants. 4 new flu cases thanks too you’re work. Woohoo.
SonnyB, the last 3 cases were at the alderbay assisted living center in eureka, read the article. You can’t blame weed for everything.
Really…just really, are they geriatric trimmers?
LOL 😝
The facts don’t fit your narrative,Sonnyb. The 4 new case today were a nursing home patient, a nursing home worker and two of the worker’s close contacts.
It’s not even close to trim season. Nice try at blaming growers for all your problems though. It could end up being an issue come trim season. I hope people hire local. Trimmigrants are not known for their good hygiene.
Either are the locals. You ever been in the Arcata co-op? Nasty 🤢
Until then imoorting scab laborers in planting and maintenance will do nicely
Well that seems like a decent amount. Obviously, we don’t have any information about the 17,000 plants but let’s assume that they were dep plants yielding a conservative guess of one ounce of dried flowers per plant. That comes out to over a half of a ton…maybe 2 or 3 times a year.
Not too shabby.
Even social distancing and masks couldn’t overcome the “pot cloud” of the eastern European gentleman at the post office today. It was so strong it made me cringe.
at least he smoked… the ones that make me look twice are the ones who probably never had a puff
Looks pretty substantial, right on the river bank.
Good size operation on the river bank.
Good size operation right on the river bank.
Well the cops sure got there work cut out for them if they really want to do anything about this pot problem I don’t even see why they try anymore poor guys trying to lay down the law and all it is is a big joke everywhere for crying out loud them poor cops 😂😂😂😂 do they really think there going to win 😂😂😂😂 the guy probably got another garden some place else with another 20,000 plants growing
Cannabis is legal.
You are correct, 6 plants unless permited.
if you think we are free you are a fool. you for sure have to pay the man… whos laws do you think made weed so exspensive?
5 commercial greenhouses did not arrive overnight, these growers have been busy!!
Too close to the river. One good flood season and all gone
15 sheriff trucks with a chipper driving down 101south from eureka at 9:36 am
Stoners gonna’ stone. Hey, I gotta great idea, how about if all you lazy earth rapin’ stoner fucktards get off your asses and do a little river cleanup, like I’ve been doing for the last 35 years or so? Sick of this shit…
Did they say the size of the plants or how many out of 17000 were clones? I read a comment about how much approximate weight each plant would yield but not all clones are going to be viable and alot will go to other people.
Been there for years
