Watercolor Workshop to Keep You Learning and Growing During COVID
This letter to the community invites you to a free online watercolor class:
Hi There,
I’m a local artist, (I painted the Rhododendron for the Rhody Parade Poster) and I’m offering a free online Watercolor Workshop as a fun, upbeat activity to help keep everyone entertained and occupied while sheltering at home. It is suitable for all levels – beginner to advanced. And, it can be used as a group activity for the family.
My specialty is animals and people. Anyone interested to join can find me on Facebook: Lavonne Cookman. The free group is called Lavonne’s Free Online Workshop.
For those who don’t already have watercolor supplies, I offer alternatives found around the house – like coffee, tea, food coloring, etc. Paper can be just about anything. Q-tips and sponges and fingers can apply paint. Also, old makeup brushes and house paint brushes. I just want people to have fun with art. I know creativity/art is soothing to the soul, helps improve moods, and will become essential to our mental health, especially in the coming days.
Instruction will happen via live video and remain available as a recording. The first class was on March 25th at 7:00 pm, and I currently have over 1, 000 members in the group from all over the world. It’s wonderful to connect with these others in the same situation.
I’ll attach a few posters.
Stay safe in place.
