Doesn’t this kind of defeat the purpose of closing the school? I know students need to eat… but how is this containing a possible spread? Maybe they should do a drop off service to students’ porches so there is no contact.

The idea is that people will drive up and be handed food bags and then leave to consume them elsewhere, hopefully at home. This allows no real contact or exposure to staff or other students. Delivering to each individual porch in the rural areas of Humboldt County is very impractical.

Hope this helps.

FUHS has provided literally no information about the closure to parents. I’m super glad the priority was figuring out meals, because that is really very important to many families, but no info about the actual closure itself. I found out about the closure on social media and have no idea if there is going to be anything required of students to do or anything Just no info. Poor form, in my opinion.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that is NOT happy with the way this has been handled. Absolutely no information. I found out was closed because the track coach contacted us to tell us no practice for the two weeks school is closed. Seriously? I’m glad they are offering this service but the way this is being handled is ridiculous! They were more informative letting us know that all school sports and events including prom was canceled. 🤷🏼‍♀️
