You Can Apply for an Open Vacancy on a City of Arcata Committee

The City of Arcata is seeking community members to apply for open vacancies on the Historic Landmarks Committee and the Wetlands & Creeks Committee.

Members of the Historic Landmarks Committee advise City Council on features in Arcata with historic, architectural and cultural significance. Committee members also coordinate community outreach and education relating to historic preservation and historic landmark designation. There are no residency requirements to join this Committee, and all community members with a passion for historic architecture and local history are encouraged to apply.

Members of the Wetlands & Creeks Committee advise City Council on matters affecting Arcata’s wetlands, creeks, riparian areas and tideland resources. Those with interest or experience related to Arcata’s creeks and wetlands, wetland ecology, riparian botany, water quality, wildlife, fisheries and watershed management are encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants must live or work within the Arcata Planning Area to be considered.
