Miracle Tickets Sought to UPLIFT Homeless Through Music with Melvin Seals and JGB
This is a press release from the City of Eureka:
Donate a Concert Ticket to UPLIFT Eureka: Give the Gift of Music
A special opportunity is available to support an individual on their journey by gifting the healing benefits of live music. Please consider sponsoring an UPLIFT participant by purchasing a ticket to donate for participants to attend a “Benefit Concert for Humboldt’s Homeless” featuring Melvin Seals and JGB, on February 29, 2020.
Melvin is most revered for his powerful, high spirited, Hammond B-3 organ, and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define what has now become “Jam Band Music”.
Whether or not you can attend this important community event, residents can help support houseless neighbors by purchasing tickets for those who might not be able to attend otherwise. To donate, please call (707-441-4248) or visit the Adorni Center (1011 Waterfront Drive) to purchase a ticket to donate. Sponsorships are also available for local businesses and organizations who would like to support this event through a monetary donation.
The concert takes place at the Eureka Municipal Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. This is an all-ages show, and food and libations will be available for purchase.
Tickets are available for $40 in advance or $45 at the door. You can purchase them for yourself or for others online at brownpapertickets.com or at The Works and Wildberries. The show is expected to sell out, so pre-sale tickets are recommended.
If you are interested in donations, sponsorships, or general UPLIFT Eureka inquiries, please contact Katelyn “Mo” Merrell at (707) 268-1844.

I do believe the meth uplifts the homeless far more than Jerry tribute ever could. At least they’ll smell the same as the other concert goers.
Well, I think the homeless drug addicts should have a benefit concert to pay for cleaning up their illegally occupied campsites!
Either that or start a “Go Fund Me”, to pay for the people who pick up the trash…
Thanks!
I hate the trash more than anything about the homeless problem. Man those gullies are nasty if you’ve ever poked your head in. And all the human shit going straight into the bay…. enjoy those oysters folks! Might find a needle in one.
Cleaning up the bay would be a good improvement, a good start.
Eureka could use a treatment system similar to Arcata’s, similar to the Arcata march.
Well, *I* think it’s a nice thing to do. Good on them.
Perhaps they could do a free ass wiping booth too..along with free heroin filled needles at the door.
Y’all need to grow the fuck up! If you can’t say anything nice then keep your disrespectful fucking mouths closed. This is about supporting people not bashing them. Get a life you ignorant mother fuckers. 💯 Obviously if you are gonna talk shit about a community fundraiser to help the homeless community, then maybe your the ones who need help.
