Weaverville Schools on Lockdown Yesterday After Comment Made About School Violence

On January 14, 2020 at approximately 1:30 PM, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office became aware of a statement, which appeared to indicate that someone (not a student) may cause or attempt to cause harm to students at one of the Weaverville area schools.
Deputies were dispatched to the schools and the suspect in the matter was contacted. The suspect had not been at the schools nor in the immediate area of the schools.
During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect in the matter had made a comment about school violence, however, they had made no specific threat to the school’s or students thereof. The suspect had also done nothing which would allow an arrest to be made.
Deputies confirmed that the individual had no firearms or access to firearms. Deputies remained at the schools until the students had left for the day.
Weaverville area schools were placed in a lock-down setting as a precaution.

The sky is falling!
All California schools run bi-yearly active shooter drills, it’s really no big deal. One hour of schooling was lost. Weigh that against who-knows-how-much pointless death.
Weaverville is getting edgy with school threats and shotguns fired in the air. More like Hayfork now apparently. Note sarcasm. Hope all is well in Trinity.
Does anyone take School threats seriously with all that’s been happening all around the world? Students need to feel safe in there inviroment as well as teachers and ect. Outside of there home. I hate to say it, but whoever made the treat should have still been arrested rather he had weapons or not, It is Still Considered a Terrorist Treat. Who is to say at some point it would happen? Police need to take all these threats Seriously no matter how small they think the situation is.. Sad we live in a messed up World. Just saying, Something Needs To Be Done For Everyones Safety.
