Shoplifting Incident Leads to Recovery of Stolen U-Haul Van, Says Sheriff’s Office

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Tommy Michael Frost

Tommy Michael Frost

On Nov. 12, 2019, at about 2:45 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Garberville Substation received the report of a shoplifting incident occurring on November December 11 at a Redway business.

According to the business owner, whose store is located on the 1200 block of Evergreen Road, the suspect, later identified as 45-year-old Tommy Michael Frost, had been observed on surveillance video stealing a knife from the business on November December 11. The business owner told deputies that a subject matching the surveillance footage was observed with a U-Haul van near Tooby Park early in the afternoon on November 12. The business owner was able to provide deputies with the surveillance video, a license plate number for the U-Haul and a last known location of the suspect.

Deputies located the U-Haul traveling on Redwood Drive and observed it enter U.S. Highway 101 north. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near the Highway 101 Redway off-ramp and made contact with two occupants, Frost and 39-year-old Joni Leanne Pullen.

Upon further investigation, deputies learned that the U-Haul had been reported stolen out of Eureka. Additionally, inside the vehicle deputies located drug paraphernalia.

Pullen was cited and released on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia (PC 11364(a)).

Frost was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of stolen property (PC 496(a)), shoplifting (PC 459.5), driving with an expired license (VC 14601(a)) and violation of probation (PC 1203.2(a)).

Anyone with information about this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at 707-445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at 707-268-2539.

Tommy Frost, just another in a long line of criminals attracted to Southern Humboldt. Heroin/meth Central. Drug dealers paradise. Homeless magnet. I think the criminals and homeless outnumber the decent folks at this point. It’s insanely sad…

Your wrong. I participate, we are becoming outnumbered by homeless, drug addicts, thieves and all around general POSs that will take advantage of you in a heartbeat. Isn’t democrat run California great! Tax the working class more while giving immunity to criminals.

I don’t know if you can pin it on a political party, but I agree with the rest. I do think the liberals are too nice about the homeless/drug addict prob, but on most other issues progressive agenda is smarter and more … well, progressive. Move forward or die, but do it right. These pieces of shit should sit in prison for a long time. We are turning into third world.

You need to get out more often. There is nothing going on here that is unique to So Hum. You guys sound really depressed. But I guess if I were a Trumpkin in a state where he lost by 4 million votes I’d be depressed.

Not particularly unique to California, but certainly unique across the country. You should get out more. I spend half of my time in a state where I leave my car and apartment unlocked every single day. Never have seen a needle on the street and haven’t heard of a burglary in the last 6 months. It’s a red state, though.

That is always where a socialist government ends up. Socialism- the way it is currently defined as either private or pubic ownership of means of production to benefit the public- always ends up as a dictatorship. The only way socialism survives it’s adherence to indivdual bad judgement is when there is still a strong election base who will periodically vote them out of power AND THEY GO. Sooner or later anything consistently socialist will have either a strong leader or agenda ridden group, frustrated with being pulled back, who by hook or crook will NOT go. And most socialists and those they reward are fine with them not going when asked to leave. If the public fails just once to push them out, democracy is rendered powerless.

You guys don’t even know what socialism is. Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, Public Health and the CDC are all “socialist” programs.

Well, when it benefits the public good, it’s called Socialism. When it benefits Corporations, it’s called a subsidy.

exactly right. Any government program that benefits the middle class or poor is an “entitlement” or “socialist” but recurrent and continuous tax breaks for the 1% are justice, freedom and the American way. Who will pay for the additional trillion dollar deficit to pay for Republican tax breaks for the uber-wealthy? People who get a W-2 with the money already withheld, that’s who.

I’m afraid it’s you who have missed the important difference between socialist benefit and a contributory benefit. Although Social Security and Medicare have socialist elements, being weighted to pay more to lower wage individuals, it at least required contributions for decades before getting a return. But of course, once people, who are pretty clueless about how social security worked, started getting paid, some noticed that they did not get as much as some others. That they paid in less and still got proportionally more back did not impress them. Nope. It was “my friend Joe gets more than I do even though we worked the same job.” Or “you expect me to live on that!” Those who always feel abused complained. The program became a whipping boy for liberals for not doing enough and for conservatives for not being truly self supporting.

Then along came Supplemental Security Income and Medicaid, which are wholly socialist programs requiring no contributions at all. And the leap from one to the other was so clouded in peoples minds that even those who receive benefits confuse which they get. Again all they know is they want more and think others who are better off should pay for it, although they’re a little fuzzy on exactly who that should be.

No, you’re wrong. “Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance” were not socialist programs although the liberals pushed as them far as they could in that direction. And of course, it was never ever far enough.

A stolen Uhaul truck and a stolen knife , he was probably about to try to rip someone off it’s a good thing he was stopped just in time . Now he lives his life by the soap 🧼 on a rope without his dope he’ll just have to find some way to cope and in the police report that’s what they wrote at least it wasn’t 187 murder she wrote .

The woman, Pullen, was charged with the drug crimes but Frost wasn’t charged with any drug crimes. If he’s driving her around, he’s part of the drug conveyance (added convenience for their customers). Unless the paraphernalia was for single use, it makes no sense.
