Kneeland School Presenting ‘Everyday Heroes’ in December

This is a press release from Kneeland Elementary School:

A whimsical tale of strength and perseverance

Ferndale Repertory Theatre and Kneeland School are cooperating to present an original production titled EVERYDAY HEROES. Performances are FREE to Humboldt County Schools and will take place Monday – Friday, Dec. 9-13 at Ferndale Repertory Theatre, 447 Main Street, Ferndale, at 10:30 a.m.

This year’s play tackles the big problems facing youth of the world: too much homework, litter on the beaches, world-wide droughts, and having to get up WAY too early for school. To help them solve the world’s dilemma’s the students call for help from some rather generic superheroes. The help these off-brand superheroes offer leaves a little (or a lot) to be desired and the students quickly learn that they not only have to solve the world’s problems on their own, but they also must clean up the mess left in the superheroes’ wake. In the end, it turns out that we all have super skills and are capable of doing great things.

This funny and adventurous play is written, designed and performed by Kneeland School’s students in grades 4-8 as part of their full-immersion drama education program.
