[UPDATE 1:02 p.m.] Power Off Yet?
According to Humboldt County’s Office of Emergency Services, PG&E will shut off power to much of our area just after Midnight.
Just for our info, will you please let us know when your power goes out and (roughly) where you are? (And, if you lose power, please tell us if your cell phone and your internet are continuing to work. (What services you use–Verizon, Suddenlink, etc–would be helpful info, too.)

Out in garberville by playhouse, verizon cell service working.
Power out in Myrtletown no internet in house. Phone internet is up and running. I have US Cellular. It is 6am.
Cell sites in most cases have generators and banks of large batteries.

12:25 am power out in Windy Gap between Garberville and Alderpoint. Lots of high sustained wind this afternoon and evening. Jet exhaust covered the skies with crazy criss cross patterns today too.
Don’t bother with that. Nobody will believe you!
Shelter Cove went off around 12:30 a.m. Power came back on about 5 minutes later. This usually indicates the utility district has switched to backup generator. T-Mobile cell and 101 Netlink presently working. Fairly breezy here.

The power is out in Arcata as of just before 1:00 AM. I’m just at home reading by candlelight.
Will be curious how long the cell towers will last with their back-up power.
