When law enforcement arrived on the scene of an accident in the 600 block of Thomas Road west of Miranda about 8:30 on Wednesday night, they found a bloodstained vehicle over the bank just past the intersection with Pine Drive. But the vehicle was empty.

According to a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, officers had to “search for the driver for 15-20 minutes” before locating them. The driver had major injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The spokesperson wasn’t able to say if the driver had fled the scene or been disoriented. However, he said alcohol or drugs are believed to have been a factor though he cautioned the investigation isn’t yet complete.

He was clearly running from the meter maid, but she didn’t have to use defensive driving techniques and roll his truck just to give him a parking ticket!!!
Sheesh
No wonder he was scared

It’s sad that it’s become protocol for the police to attempt to criminalize just about any incident, and in most cases to unreasonable degrees, to the point that such fear itself has become a factor in incriminating people in creating an atmosphere of mistrust in rapport from the get go.

well, OK, that’s your opinion. Cool. I don’t agree. People can have accidents that really are “no fault,” but I think many are the result of DUI, texting, phoning, too damn fast , no drivers’ ed. I never hear of cops looking for devices or checking the service tower for proof of use. Too damn lenient. We don’t know what else may have been found to lead the LEO’s to suspect intoxication. Did Akismet lose my data again? I’m afraid to look. Oh, damn. I’m a little damny today.

WTF are you talking about anyway? “mistrust and rapport?”. What do you think happens in a major auto accident? Don’t put off that drivers’s ed. class one more day.

He had almost zero injuries and nothing to his face or head, making us all believe there was a second occupant, blonde hair hanging from the window opening confirmed this but after a massive search we all were unable to locate

While drugs and alcohol may be a factor I have seen.people wonder off from an accident after sustaing a head injury more than once some weird instinct people go hide in the trees and brush. I have had to track a few people after accident due to this. Not excusing anyone’s actions for driving while impaired after all the accident probably would not have happened in the first place.

See “singular they”.

The word at issue is “them,” and “they” is used in the subjunctive case.

Need to determine if the driver was binary or non-binary. Use ‘them’ in the meantime?

Those 2017 and newer power strokes are pretty hard to roll , even if you can figure out how to cancel your traction control, the aluminum body ( notice the tear in the bed) coupled with 20 “ brakes and modern etc , you kinda have to be trying

Poor guy, I’ve seen it before , … almost too many times to seem real …
When they did find him Was he stumbling around , with hyper dilated pupils, muttering gibberish , sweating profusely , under his track suit…

Comedian Kevin Hart was recently in a car accident and suffered a head injury then got out of the car and wandered home.

Insurance claim? Deer ran out in the road. Leaving the scene of an accident? I hit my head. Both work. Believe me. I prefer a good lawyer on top of it all, a good slimy crooked lawyer.
