Press Release from Blue Lake Community Church Salt and Light Ministry:

Flyer from Blue Lake Community Church

[Flyer provided by Blue Lake Community Church Salt and Light Ministry.]

Blue Lake Community Church Salt & Light Ministry is honored to welcome Stephen Edward Broden as the keynote speaker and facilitator of this event. Stephen Edward Broden will share from his book, Pawns of Change, and facilitate a community discussion about race relations in Humboldt County from a biblical perspective.
Format
This community discussion will be guided by written questions and comments. The purpose of the written question and comment format is to (1) facilitate understanding, and (2) add structure to keep the discussion productive. Participants will be given an opportunity to write down questions and comments at the check-in table. Questions and comments may also be submitted via email (blccsaltandlightministry@gmail.com) prior to the event. The deadline to email questions and comments is
September 20, 2019, at 5 pm PST.

Purpose
Humboldt County is experiencing increased racial tension in recent years. Many in the community are looking for answers, healing, and hope. Humboldt County has held several community discussions in recent years to address race relations; however, none have been truly productive. Why? Getting to a place of healing and hope requires looking at the root causes of these tensions. The BLCC Salt & Light Ministry is hosting this community event to bring to light the root cause of racial tension in Humboldt County and apply biblical principles to find real solutions, real healing, and real hope. This is a peaceful event. Any disruption will be cause for immediate removal from the meeting.

Umm, huh? Mr. Broden is a vile hate-spewing individual, and even tacitly endorsing his viewpoints by giving him free publicity is not appropriate.

Everything he says and does expresses hatred for women, gays, or just about any minority other than african-americans. He’s at least as bad as the murder music performers in what he says about sexual minorities. And he’s not just expressing his opinion – he’s the type of crazy who uses phrases like “Radical Homosexual Liberation Movement .. This scam of the immoral Left is both fascistic and racist,”, “sodonormative logic”,…

The things he says would get him deleted if he posted in comments here. Unless you’re planning on organizing a protest outside this church, let’s not give him any more of a pulpit than possible.

You think I’m joking… you should read some of the things he says. He runs an anti-LGBTQ hate group, has repeatedly called for the elimination of anti-discrimination laws, spews all sorts of bullshit (like that gays are all pedophiles), is anti-semitic (of the zionists are running the world variety), anti-women’s-rights, backs anti-transgender laws, promotes violence against groups he disagrees with, claims that the equality act will destroy the country, even attacks churches who do not promote anti-lgbtq policies, disrupts other peoples’ talks with anti-lgbtq protests (I’d laugh at their claiming no disruptions will be tolerated at his own talks if I didn’t think he genuinely believes his own policies shouldn’t apply to him), has attacked the congressional black caucus (because race relations isn’t actually something he cares about), has called for violence against planned parenthood, and generally is not only crazy, but is wealthy enough that his crazy is harming others. And, in short, is a really awful person that you shouldn’t be promoting.

I don’t have any signs handy, but I do have a t-shirt that says “Strap-on” in the Snap-on Tools font…

Thanks for this info, Bushytails: really appreciate you getting this information out. Also totally want that shirt, though I also like my original Snap-On T 🙂

I got mine from here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Snap-On-Strap-On-Funny-Novelty-Printed-T-Shirt-in-5-Sizes/310473791900
Shipped from the UK, but got here quickly. You can also get them from other ebay sellers, and several of the t-shirt printing places (cafepress, etc) have similar.

I agree, this guy is nuts. He signed a letter defending Steve King and demanding reinstatement of his committee assignments for example. I’m all for hearing opposing viewpoints but you have to draw the line somewhere. This kind of hate has no business being in Blue Lake or Arcata in my opinion.

It’s not actually in blue lake… I wonder if the blue lake church is trying to distance themselves from him? From what I can gather from minimal research (I really don’t care to read crazy all day), the “salt and light ministry” is some form of nationwide hate group with a focus on lobbying and electing hateful politicians, with Lucinda running the local franchise of it. Given as she lives in eureka, not blue lake, I wonder if she just shopped around until she found a church willing to tolerate them? Total guess, of course.

From the press release: “Any disruption will be cause for immediate removal from the meeting”. Looks like they have done this before. Gotta love that good old religions tolerance. NOT!😂

Yep. He runs or is connected with several hate groups. I’m kinda disappointed in kym for promoting him. Pretty much every word out of his mouth (and/or fingers) is hate speech.

Unfortunately, it looks like I’m going to go be busy tomorrow. Hopefully someone with more available time goes there and violates their no-disruptions policy.

All of you vile wicked people hating on a man for telling you the truth are lost and on a path straight to the eternal pit of hell. You’ve been warned. Repent and turn to Jesus Christ. He forgives sin and washes your soul clean. If you do not, and continue on your wicked paths, you will spend eternity in horror.
