FBI Operation in Hayfork With Helicopter and K-9 Captures Two Fleeing Suspects

FBI in Hayfork

Hayfork, population less than 2400 people, has now had two major FBI operations in less than two weeks both of which have connections to the state of Virginia.

Today around 2 p.m., the FBI supported by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle on Hwy 3 near the Hayfork Fairgrounds. Two suspects attempted to flee the vehicle but were captured.

A spokesperson for the FBI, Gina Swankie, wrote in response to our questions, “Today, the FBI with assistance from the California Highway Patrol and Trinity County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a fugitive wanted in Virginia during a traffic stop in Hayfork.  At this time, we do not have additional details to provide.”

A Trinity County woman who was caught up in the action with her children spoke to us anonymously. She had been driving south out of town and just before she got to the Trinity County Sheriff’s substation, she said two Sheriff vehicles came out “really fast.”

She continued behind them only to have more law enforcement type vehicles come out of the substation driveway behind her. “Two big trucks came up really fast,” she said. “I could tell they wanted me out of the way.” She pulled over and let them by. “Two more came up really fast right behind me,” she said. “They had their lights on.”

Then she said more law enforcement type vehicles came from the other direction. They appeared to force a vehicle to stop that was ahead of the law enforcement vehicles that had passed her.

“The next thing I know I see two guys running for their life,” she said. “Police Officers with guns drawn going after them–about eight [officers]…One of the [suspects] who was running appeared to take stuff out-maybe a gun…He was slinging things right and left. They were chasing him.”

The woman described at least one K-9 officer. “A helicopter appeared, [also],” she said. “It makes me think this wasn’t a spur of a moment thing. They must have a little bit of a heads up…There was one guy who had like an army fatigue helmet on. Everyone else…had Trinity County vests on and what not.”

A fence runs along Hwy 3 in the area and one of the suspects tried to get through it to the open field beyond. The woman explained, “[The suspect] tried to find an exit…He tried to jump [over the fence] but he couldn’t.”

At this point the woman was worried that law enforcement might start shooting. “I got the kids out of the car and got behind the car,” she explained.

By this time the officers had detained the suspects including the man that had tried to jump the fence. “They had seized him and they got the other guy as well,” she said. “There might have been three [suspects]. I’m not sure.”

Eventually, law enforcement checked the suspects’ vehicle. “They were very cautious about opening the guys’ car,” the woman told us. “But there wasn’t anyone there.”

The officers put at least two men in handcuffs. “One guy had black hair with dyed red tips and the other guy had only black hair,” the woman said. “About 15 to 20 minutes later, they let us pass through.”

We don’t know if the FBI has concluded their investigation in the tiny remote town of Hayfork. We’ll update if we get more information.

I am the father and husband and for the most part I agree with you. But, for them to leave my wife and young children trapped in the middle of their abandoned convoy for 20 minutes…and all their vehicles, is a serious breach, he was coming back to their vehicles and my families. They got their guys, bravo, but they abandoned my wife and kids and turned their guns in their direction when the suspect came back that is way Failed manhood, failed humanhood to leave a mother with a toddler and a small child to get out of those safety seats on her own and shelter them. Total situational failure and chicken shit for job promotion. Yes, I will post as guest.

Why not turn around and go back to Hayfork? Or are you looking for a payday for a one time only unavoidable situation, if you are, in fact, the father and husband, and not just a troll looking for attention.

The first 2 TSCO vehicles popped out in front of her at the substation then 2 more vehicles popped out behind her, she pulled over for them and then continued not realizing what was going on. More vehicles started racing up behind her and as she pulled over for them everything was stopping and they boxed her in, guys running past her with guns like they were invisible and left them there to hide behind the car in case bullets started flying, totally irresponsible.

As for the person who said sue, for what? we are ranch folk, we don’t have time for emotional damage.

Hope they do a lot more before they all leave the area. There are just to many thugs coming into the county. Let the legal growers do what they have permits to grow and bust all of the low lifers who could care less about our town.

Some of us Virginians just enjoy the beautiful alpine lake hikes all over siskyou s marble mtns and trinity alps since the blue ridge anit all that different, just clearer water. And plus we got that southern charms and pinpoint manners that many but not everyone lack up here. Been here almost a decade and I love it.

Really it wasnt about the green rush. Although it would made sense to stay because of it and a best friend I made. Yet that is definitely not what first brought me to the west coast, I had no idea about the weed scene that existed here.. It was about exploring everything. Branching away from the military state I love so much. And shoot , least were an open carry state with a LOT less theft crime… oh strict gun laws here but hey you can have radar detectors, speed alllll you want.. makes no damn sense

This is nowhere else, if it wasn’t for a friend who’s family was at the fairground with their animals and watched all this I would be like, “WTF”? Kym is the only news source we have otherwise stuff like this would never be known, just like the flash bang raid a couple of weeks ago.

Chuck,

The Trinity Journal has 2 articles about the first FBI raid a week ago.

They carried an online article the day it happened, and had a follow up in their print version that is still available in town.

Kyms my go-to, but I’m so effing tired of reading Qanon/8chan/sovcit conspiracy comments from a couple commentors here….

Shak has posted failed Q prophecies here on RHBB many times.

8 chan is a website for extremists. The shooter in El Paso is just one of many nutjobs who posted his white supremacist manifesto on 8 chan.

Sovcit is an abbreviation for Sovereign Citizen. You see Central Humcos reading of life in her comments. That’s sovcit.

Alternatively, in a slight variation of your guess, “A Russian Propaganda Tool” would suffice.

No, no, no Mike.

A Republican led Senate investigation found extensive Russian meddling in Social Media to affect our elections.

Many stupid ass conspiracies like Seth Rich came from Russias IRA, into fringe-right viewpoints.

Similarly, the birther conspiracy was bound to the fringe-right;
Trump/Alex jones/etc.

Thankful for the way the situation was handled and nobody was harmed. Shit bags of Trinity one by one I hope you are all found and removed. If you are into Meth or hard drugs and are a thief or just shit bag in general I hope you are all removed [edit]
