I called Gavin Newsom’s office asking about the helicopter (if they could confirm national guard and what info was being collected that could be considered personal/private). They told me to call the National Guard and looked up a number for me. I called. The person answered with just a grunt, so after asking if I had actually called the National Guard, I repeated what I asked Newsom’s office. They transferred me to “flight ops,” and I repeated myself a third time. This guy told me that he doubted it was National Guard, and if it was they were probably checking earthquake fault lines but weren’t collecting any personal info. He suggested that the helicopter was the police department because “they will flow low and it’s very intimidating.”

Just download the Flightradar app, it tells you who is flying over or if it’s private owner.

Using those funds generated by fees paid by permit farms. But…let’s all stick together?! While part of our community pays for the other part to get eradicated? And says nothing while it happens, knowing that their neighbors’ eradication will mean greater profits for them? But yeah…”Let’s stick together” because “they” are trying to divide us! “They” did divide us- You permit growers took the bait and sold out your neighbors yet now want to pretend you really didn’t mean to do it and we should “stick together” with you! Wow- the arrogance and entitlement around here never ceases to blow my mind…

Or illegal growers squeezed out huge profits because they didn’t pay taxes, didn’t follow expensive environmental regulations, pay workers under the table, etc. You illegal growers already dividedyourselves from everyone else voluntarily and not giving a rat’s ass for the misery their illegal profit taking created. It’s not the illegal growers who are complaining but the illegal ones who thought they could pay lip service to the government but still act just as lawlessly. They truly, in total ignorance of how government treats legal businesses, thought it was all just like the good old days but without jail. Yes, “arrogance and entitlement ” is still in full bloom if you think the helicopters are looking for legal growers. The government knows where they are- the legal growers told them.

That is a torrent of hot air Guest.. Yeah.. pay “legal workers under the table” like all other “legal” traditional farmers do.. Uh huh.. (vinyards, tomatoes, strawberries)…Or pollute the environment and poision people wit thier “legal” round-up ready Giant poision AG.. All 1000% legal. But hey. at least they paid the gov.. to do that.. or wait. no they most likely didn’t… actually the gov probably “paid them” in terms of subsidies..At least the giant poision us all outfits made a fortune. And yeah..You never know.. your neighbor just might be an “other” and not have filed form# WtcEvrytin782 properly.. I guess that deserves complete financial ruin… Because the “licit” growerz are up to the same exact biz.. but hey. just wait until “legal growers” forget the form #payusmore900 because the growerz inc. down south want more of the pie..

National Guard is a federal agency. Blaming someone like me is not the issue. As I stated the division is in large part to the division over federal marijauna policy. Money, money and more money wake up you only fuel the division. You are helping them more than what you believe is hurting others.

Not really. I know how this corporate takeover game works. First they divide us up with letting some of us buy permits. Then they tax the permitted heavily- using some for eradication of the unpermitted. They tell the permitted that they will be okay if only we could get rid of the unpermitted who are ruining the market….Meanwhile and especially later on they will regulate all small permitted players into the ground, bankrupting them and buying their facilities at nickels on the dollar…..That’s how they do it. that’s how they have done it for many years and in many places. If you- as a permitted grower- think you have a chance at escaping this steamroller then I suspect you don’t read history or know much about corporate/government takeover strategies. They are using you to attack your neighbors. Then they will gobble you up. Need a clue? The 1 acre max permit for 5 years that you thought you voted for- rescinded in a backroom decision by state-appointed corporate-friendly regulators…with no explanation. I am not paying for your eradication …yet you are paying for mine. Why doesn’t that bother you?

Any time you pay money to the government you are funding things you don’t like. I don’t like our military sucking up so much money but I pay my taxes anyway. I’m partially responsible for all that the government does in my name including busting small mom and pops (which also includes stopping some of the growers who are deeply damaging the environment), dropping bombs on civilians in other countries, and incarcerating two-year-olds without their mothers. You are right.

But you are wrong that it has to be a perfect system before you start trying to work with it. Because nothing is ever perfect. Once you stop looking for perfection and black and white answers, you are going to realize that governments make rules and exact taxes and the rest of us can try to live as morally as possible while struggling to deal with the deep problems or we can refuse to accept anything from the government (don’t send your kid to public school, don’t drive on public roads, don’t purchase property and expect it to be mostly protected by the law.)

Go ahead and choose to join with the DFW in trying to divide growers into camps that are easier to destroy. That’s your choice. It’s not mine. I think you are going to lose that game.

Kym.. the Original Market is winning.. The New market is the one on the fritz right now.. At least in the Triangle.. The originals are not the ones sowing these seeds of division.. but both sides are now reaping the profits..and why wouldn’t that bother people? Paying for thier Neighbors demise.. I think it’s important to demand accountability for paying for policies that harm people. Maybe if more people put pressure on the system and how thier flow is used, there might be better outcomes, in many different situations. And I agree, some of these Grows are absolutely environmental terrors.. But maybe if they stopped targeting decent people who are not eco destroyers…. they would have more energy to target the people who are destructive again and again, over and over.. And some of those nasty grows ARE permitted.. we all know that..
But in many cases, the punishment just doesn’t fit the crime… I mean me personally, I think legal growers are getting the shaft here too! Personally I have spoken to those measures…

It’s not a perfect system, that’s true. It’s not a perfect world.. that doesn’t mean people should ideally accept its mark. And I can’t blame folks for being upset about the state of the system or presenting thier side of the issue.. People are upset, rightfully so..
People don’t have to accept injustices such as these.. on either side.. It’s true, not a lot of easy answers., If people ask the questions and demand answers.. I think there can be solutions.. Personally…

If you are born, you have to pay certain taxes to live. The problem with this is that ya’ll had a choice, and you chose to sell out your community and neighbors so that you could profit. Then you all speak out of the side of your mouth about community and not being divided. There have been a lot of unjust policies regarding this plant. They have been resisted for over half a century. Now, a lot people have thrown their neighbor and community to the wolves for the first crappy bill of legalization that came across the table. A lot of people were for legalization, a lot of people read that bill and discovered that, written within the bill were plans for corporatization, not legalization. Those people ignored that, and instead of voting NO against a crappy bill, and demanding a better one be drawn up by our representatives, they voted for it at the expense of their own neighbor. If no one signed up and instead went to the court house or the planning department to demand a better ordinance before anyone signed up, we could’ve had decent county regulations. You took the one thing ya’ll had going for you, outlaw nonconformist culture, and threw it away. That was the one bargaining chip the industry had, was to keep things the way that it was until better legislation that fit the industry better was written up. You say you didn’t have a choice, but all of you did. Your choice was to sell out your community for cash rather than stand up for the community and demand a better form of legislation that would fit all of you. Now you talk out of the side of your mouth about community and not being divisive, almost like you never had a choice. But, we all know you did, and deep down you know you did too. Enjoy your greater good while some inner city kid may not be harassed for smoking a doob, your neighbors are losing everything. Congratulations, go pat yourself on the back.

It is really possible to disagree with a choice made by another without vilifying them for making it. I chose legalization. I don’t vilify those who don’t. I want to work with them to create better legislation that helps the environmentally friendly (which often means smaller) farmer.

Some argue that those who choose to stay illegal are avoiding paying taxes and are greedy vampires sucking money from society without giving back.

I don’t think so. I think each family or individual looked at their choices and factored in their reality and mostly did the best they could under the circumstances. Most of us are decent folks who want a better world.

Many of those who voted for legalization knew they were facing reduced incomes and still made the choice.

Many who chose illegality did so because they believed that choosing otherwise would destroy an outlaw culture that supported wonderful non-profits and out of the box thinking.

Those are both values I can get behind even if I had to chose one and grieve the other.

I still consider those who chose differently my family.

Those who chose differently are not the arbiters of your destruction, whereas you most definitely are the arbiter of theirs. That is why people feel differently. I also stated that a lot of people are for legalization, but didn’t vote for this form of it because they actually read the bill. When you read a bill that has to do with the legalization of a substance, that is based in reducing harm to the citizens and reducing arrests and reducing the amount of people that are being criminalized by that substance’s illegal status, maybe a bill that has 90% of its taxes earmarked for enforcement instead of roads and schools, might be the wrong one to achieve that. Everyone knows that California was legalization bound, everyone knows that if that bill was voted down, another one would’ve been on the table next year, it might’ve been better, could’ve been worse, but if it was worse than this bill we could’ve voted it down again. Maybe you didn’t read the bill, or maybe you thought that if you vote it through, then be first in line for your permit, you will be protected while others are eradicated. One thing I know is that I didn’t vote for this particular bill because it was crap, even though I would like weed to be legal. I know you are all about the greater good, well what has been done for the greater good is about one step below flat out extermination of our neighbors and community. Sure the Nat’l Guard hasn’t killed anyone, yet, but our neighbors are being financially and systematically destroyed through heavy handed bureaucratic legislation, over-taxation, unconstitutional fees and fines, as well as incarceration for something that has been voted “legal”, and that goes for everyone, legal or not. And you know the greedy vampire thing is bs. The majority of our rural communities were built by growers who wanted a better life for themselves and their families, as well as their neighbors and neighbors’ families. Now all that is being destroyed for a little bit of $$. Don’t piss down my neck and tell me its raining.

Kym Kemp
Admin

Don’t piss down my neck and tell I’m greedy when you know nothing about my family’s circumstances either. Or what we are going through during this hideous process.

I am willing to discuss the politics but you keep making this about me personally doing something to you personally. And I find that I take that just too personal oddly enough. You want to hide behind anonymity and have a discussion out in the “open.” That doesn’t strike me as at all fair. So. I’ll discuss why I believe legality is the better route, I’ll discuss why I think that not dividing up the grower community is a good idea. But the second you start getting personal again, I’m done with the conversation.

Kym, Honestly, I can say, I didn’t really see 1911 statement as an attack at you, but a generalized statement about the greed of the system. The whole Triangle is getting the shaft right now, no matter what line one takes..That is what I am hearing 1911 say…

One solid truth, is that no one can go back in time and repeal 64… that’s the truth.
The other truth is that the permitted pharms are paying for the demise of thier neighbors, that is a fact..as well..
And an ugly truth at that.. in a lot of ways.
I think it’s also true, that even though 64 passed, if people didn’t rush to get the permits, we could have all put more pressure on the system to find a better approach that may have worked better for all.. That is also probably true..
in retrospect.. and I think that can still happen..
It’s not like Kym and Company is the only one who signed up, and there are worse Players who did, and some straight don’t give an Flyin F over abatementing thier Neighors.. At least Kym has opened up the windows so that people can actually see the struggle here, and by doing so, opened herself and family up to open criticism. Which takes heart..
At this point Legalization may be a step, twards the greater good.. but that doesn’t mean that folks on all sides are entitled to deny certain Truths of the Real Situation…

It’s a war brought on by politicians and corporations using federal enforcement justified by a racist lie told to the masses by your federal government. This offensive in particular will have a higher casualty count than any other offensive. Why cause local juristidictions are in a cash grab before the seizure laws are changed. I most certainly do not want one penny spent on enforcement whether by those permitted or not. I want you to grow, grow and grow cause that is how we affect them. If everything is all goin well in the valley and down south why so much energy and resources here, think about it. The cost model doesn’t work for indoor grows when real growers can produce just as good of nugz sun grown. They first bashed outdoor grows then it’s the mold and pesticides I know and understand their game well. Grow Humboldt grow quit letting issues that distract from what is really goin on and grow!!!!!!!

Grow Grow grow! .. Focus on what’s good in life, stay afloat, and produce the best quality meds I can on the most diy scale I can.. but that’s just my take..
It’s partially true, Legalization, in the end.. It’s the proper thing to do. It truely is, I feel like the Triangle, we here, going to sort all this Bizness stuff out.. And hopefully stop the random misguided abatements..
I just think it’s important to try to guide the system to a better place in its wake.. and sometimes, that takes some fire..
I just hope people who voted for this can be mindful of its other consequences.. Best of luck to those who are mindful in producing thier products what ever path they choose..

Robbery is robbery, and no amount of words can make it anything else.

“We look at the results of taxation, the symptoms, to see whether and how the principle of private property is violated. For further evidence, we examine its technique, and just as we suspect the intent of robbery in the possession of effective tools, so we find in the technique of taxation a telltale story. The burden of this intransigent critique of taxation, then, will be to prove the immorality of it by its consequences and its methods” 11/08/2017 Frank Chodorov

As a reply to your statement at 2:18, I am not singling Kym out, I guess I am using the wrong pronoun, which is more appropriate, them, they, you? Definitely not “us”. Its a blanket statement, if that offends Kym so much its because deep down she knows its true. I couldn’t imagine how I would feel if I had sold out my community for some $$. Elk Ridge, Perry Meadow. Identified as a Black Hawk. From 500-1000ft the land is littered with multiple side by side green houses. GPS will show which have permits. Redwood Creek and tributaries, James Creek, Seely Creek, Miller Creek are all listed as ‘critically endangered’ watersheds. Hopefully they’re having a good look at the 326 acre “select cut” timber harvest. Estimating the riparian set backs, etc.. From the air the logging looks like a clear cut with just a few pecker poles standing here and there.

To anyone hating on illegal grows,I’d rather support them any day over (legal) just because people go legal doesn’t make them righteous and good. Huge giant corporations destroy and exploit the environment but as long as you got a license & are legal, hey go for it, just pay the fine & continue on…going to war and deliberately killing people is legal, big pharma is killing millions with opioids but hey their Licensed & Legal so by all means go for it it’s okay….but yeah let’s hate on some old timers out here growing illegally & fret that they don’t pay their fair share of taxes. Good on them, who wants to support a hypocritical war machin power mongering government anyways.
