299 can be a dangerous road most of us locals know that and we know where to be careful and drive slower and where we can drive faster and we know where to pass hope everyone’s going to be okay a head-on usually not a good outcome for two ambulances to be called must be quite a few injuries

The trooper passed me just west of Circle Point. I was driving at least 60 mph. He came up on me like I was standing still. He passed me on the double yellow, with an oncoming vehicle, just able to miss him. There was a car, maybe 50 yards ahead of me that he passed on the left with a very narrow shoulder, sot slowing at all… I fully expected to see this vehicle in pieces somewhere on my drive. I started chanting, “Please don’t let him hurt anyone.” Over and over. I feel so badly for the people in the pick up. I am sure there was nothing they could do to avoid this fate.

You should inform the authorities of what you witnessed.

Totally make a statement to the local CHP office. Save the other driver from the obvious assumption that he/she screwed up.

Please if you could contact the authorities, we would appreciate it. My husband was alone in that truck and not expecting the unavoidable collision headed his way today. Thankfully he is okay. The airbags in his truck did wonders. Other than major back pain which we pray will settle down, he walked away with one air bag burn on his arm. We were told that the young woman that was driving the Trooper will also be fine. My husband is a first responder and has helped countless people in similar situations for more than fifteen years now. They were both fortunate enough to have kind people stop and assist them. I would appreciate you contacting the authorities though because by the time law enforcement showed up the witnesses had left ( or at least we think this is the case)

By “trooper” do you mean a CHP vehicle or an Isuzu Trooper?

Not a CHP Trooper, it said Trooper in the article above. My husband thought it was a Jeep that hit him but it must have been an Isuzu Trooper. Again, if anyone witnessed the accident or her wreckless driving before the accident, we would appreciate you taking the time to contact the CHP. Thanks

Two days ago I was driving from Willow Creek to the coast and noticed a CHP right behind me way to close, then saw another, right behind it, they were way too close to me, I found a little shoulder to pull off on then they both passed at a very high speed. Then I saw their flashing lights. Then driving forward up on Berry Summit there was a truck on its top blocking both lanes. Everone seemed okay….just wondering if CHPs know I could not see emergency lights coming at me… only saw they had lights on when they passed… thought they should have notified me by lights on and not riding my ass!

Exactly Loc I do that all the time. Been commuting 299 for 15 years, I always drive the speed limit due to the amount of drunks, druggies, and bad drivers. Be safe out there kids the life you save just might be your own.

We drove by the accident within a couple minutes of it happening. There were people that were guiding traffic and a women on a cell phone calling for help, no fire personnel on scene yet. We all thought for sure the black ford escape suffered a fatality. It was severly smashed on the passenger side and the curtain airbags were deployed. Glad everyone is ok and glad it was something bigger than her that she hit if she was indeed driving wreckless and not a small car full of children such as myself. May they both have a speedy recovery and a lesson is learned.

The driver of the black ford escape wasn’t authorized to use the vehicle in the first place, she stole it; I hope that the driver of the truck is ok and has a quick recovery. As for the girl.. she is completely responsible for the accident
