Eel River Clean Up Project, Flow Kana Remove 2,500+ Pounds of Trash From Camp Area

From an Eel River Clean Up Project participant:

Loaded cargo. Rodolfo won prize for tallest load.

SUCH GRATITUDE to Flow Kana employees who once again helped out ERCP in collecting 2780 lbs. of trash [Friday]! With great teamwork they policed the Vet’s Park area then eradicated Ron Machado’s recent camp. Sadly this is the second time in 6 months that over a ton of garbage was removed from Ron’s camp. After starting at camp, Rodolfo collected Sprowel Creek offramp area. Thanks for a donation left with us today by someone requesting to remain anonymous (hint: SK). See photo captions. With Michael Miller!

Please join ERCP for a community-wide cleanup on Saturday, April 13th. We’ll be meeting at the first turnout going north out of Garberville on Redwood Dr. at 10AM.

ERCP meets every Tues and Fri at 11am at Vet’s Park across from Garberville laundromat.#trashtag

Flow Kana rockin’ it

There are thoughtful people in the area. More of us should consider cleaning up around our own areas. This entire county needs a cleanup. I appreciate the people who take it upon themselves to make our world a better cleaner place. An idea………………. My friends and I frequently walk on the beach. Several of us take the thin grocery bags no longer usable, but reusable with us and before we leave we fill the bags and take them home with us. With no where near the effort these people put in the beach is a cleaner place. The real issue is convincing the litters to not act irresponsibly.

Mother Earth hates humans. Mother Nature is like that loyal dog that is always home when you get back. You take it for granted. No matter what, that dog is there for you. We are the ticks on that dog. Spreading disease and sucking the life out of the dog, with little to no care. Too many ticks, and the dog dies. Don’t be a Tick!

Mother Nature is our mother too. She doesn’t hate us but apparently we are free to hate indiscriminately ourselves.

Who’s Ron Machado and why does he make such a mess?

Ron encapsulates so much of what we are trying to understand about homelessness: he appears to have mental illness and drug addiction issues but he also makes clever artistic comments on society. He does this using our trash…https://www.facebook.com/The-Street-Art-Of-Ronald-Ron-Machado-404555989941939/

Would he cease to be clever or artistic should he not make a mess?

He also (allegedly) throws rocks at people’s heads.

More ya do, the more yall will find yourself doing.

I lived homeless for a long time after the war, working my entire way, never leaving a trace of where I’d been…

liberalism, never finding solutions….

Why in hell do you always reduce everything to “Liberalism”? There are as many conservatives who leave huge traces of their trash presence in Humboldt County. Labeling people doesn’t get the job done. Most people like you wouldn’t recognize liberals spending their off hours cleaning up our environment and finding solutions. And just because you say you were homeless and never left a trace where you had been doesn’t make you special. Many conservatives would surely say ALL homeless people trash where they live and that ALL homeless people are conservatives. I just said it so does it make it true?
