Tribal Seeds Return to the Mateel on April 25th

This is a press release from the Mateel:

The Mateel and Ineffable Live present San Diego-based rock-reggae band Tribal Seeds.  The show takes place Thursday, April 25th at the Mateel Community Center, 59 Rusk Lane in Redway.  The event is ages, doors are at 7pm, show time is 8pm. Tickets are on sale now for $24 in advance, $29 day of show at mateel.org.

Tribal Seeds made their last appearance in Humboldt County in 2017 at the Mateel Community Center. Cultivating a substantial following after numerous successful tours throughout the U.S., the band’s origins are in San Diego. Tribal Seeds are rock-reggae band whose influences include UK reggae bands Steel Pulse and Aswad. Formed in 2005 by the Jacobo brothers, singer Steven and producer Tony-Ray, the group issued its debut album, YOUTH REBELLION, that same year. The album was the first of many to be released on the group’s own label, including a self-titled album in 2008 plus THE HARVEST from 2009. The SOUNDWAVES EP followed in 2011.  In 2014 the band’s album REPRESENTING cracked the Billboard 200 albums chart.

In March 2017, Tribal Seeds won the San Diego Music Award for Artist of the Year. A new single followed, entitled “Rude Girl” which debuted among iTunes Hot Singles in the Reggae genre.  The band’s latest album ROOTS PARTY featured a collaboration “Gunsmoke” with Jamaican Grammy nominated reggae artist Protoje and was produced by Walshy Fire from Major Lazer.  ROOTS PARTY featured dub versions of several of the set’s songs, lending to the deep roots reggae analog style sound influences that Tribal Seeds emphasizes in their recorded music and in the live setting.
