Home Invasion in Orleans
On Jan. 24, 2019, at about 4 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 1400 block of Skunk Hollow Road in Orleans for the report of a home invasion armed robbery that had just occurred.
Deputies made contact with the female victim at a nearby residence, who told deputies that around 2 a.m. she heard a knock at her door. The person identified themselves as an acquaintance of the victim, however, the victim did not recognize the voice and refused to open the door. The victim told deputies that a short while later, the subject returned to the residence and kicked in the door. Three masked suspects with firearms entered the residence, ordered the victim onto the ground and zip-tied her wrists. The suspects then spent over 45 minutes in the residence before fleeing in the victim’s vehicle.
After the suspects had left the residence, the victim was able to escape to a neighbor’s home to call law enforcement.
The suspects reportedly stole multiple firearms, electronics and other items from the residence, in addition to the victim’s dark blue 1990 Chevy Silverado (CA license plate # 4B11826).
The public is encouraged to call 911 if you see these subjects or the stolen vehicle. Do not approach the subjects as they are believed to be armed.
Anyone with information regarding this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.

🕯No description at all? The name of the acquaintance the first person asked for? All could be helpful less to a suspect.
Descriptions of crimes are only permissible when it’s evil white males. C,mon bro, get with the times.
What a sad little White “man”. You’re so pathetic. We feel sorry for you, snowflake. ❄️ Get well soon! Give the Mental Health department a call for some counseling.
I wonder how they were able to get into the gun safe? Guess she didn’t feel she could outgun three armed Intruders. Very few could.
🕯How do you know she had a gun safe it’s not mentioned in the article???
Guarantee its weed related. Park in the back by the Klamath River , easy access.
Why- just because every property on that lane has weed in the backyard?…That’s quite a jump! They might have wanted her tomato money or just practicing for a real robbery. You don’t know!!
I thought that.a motive?wrong address?
Guaranteed someone will guarantee that it’s weed related.
This crime will be oxygen and nitrogen related.
There is absolutely no way in hell that this crime is in any way possible, connected, in any way, shape, or form to weed. Said no one. Ever. Mmmmkay? Grow your own, tell no one, enjoy, rinse, repeat…
Other items now is for pot.
So sick of people saying it’s because of weed it because there’s pos that want what you got doesn’t matter what it is
Weed easy money get high play with it. Gateway attractant
Bong hits! Pay your workers well, and they wont rip you off. It’s ALWAYS a inside job.
Just like 9/11.
You agree with Central HumCo?
🕯So the dark room cut you loose. Oh yeh it’s not called the cc anymore. Hasn’t been for awhile. Now it’s the demwits. 🖖
Haven’t you heard the old saying “dont put all your eggs in one basket”? That means: don’t put all your treasures in your main residence. Spread your weed, money, guns, electronics, etc. , etc. all over your property. Bury some, hang some in trees, etc. Just saying. Lucky she didn’t get pistol whipped or worse. They know where you live and will most likely be back. Rip-off thugs=evil.
I am thankful the female victim survived. Know I know why there were more than the usual number of law enforcement vehicles in Orkeans yesterday. Folks should reinforce their doors to get them a few extra minutes to escape.
No description so the police warning to avoid contact is useless. What the heck…
This targeting of lone women is getting really disgusting.
There’s some self help for that.
There’s a gun club or association in Eureka that gives a safety and familiarity course on handguns for women. Women run the course. They show you how to handle, load, clean and shoot a gun, and provide several handguns so you can get a feel for them before buying one. I think they run it a few times a year. They supply guns for women to handle and get used to. I’m pretty sure the course is free, you pay for the ammunition and maybe the day rate at the gun range. You may need to take your test and get your handgun permit first. California Firearm Safety Certificate (permit) study book is here; https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/agweb/pdfs/firearms/forms/hscsg.pdf . The test isn’t any harder than a driver’s license.
I hope this is OK on the forum, I don’t see a link to the rules… But anyway, I think it’s important for women to know there are resources for information on self defense. Many women have been told they can’t handle a gun and there is no reason women should be intimidated.
Women learn to shoot well much faster than men on average, in my experience*. I think they usually bring less gun-related phychological baggage to the table.
*That is, if some asshole doesn’t give them a 12 gauge to start with #toxicmasculinity
Yeah, That happens, that was me. At the ripe old age of 9 I was handed a 12 gauge by my father, told to buck up, and had my mother screaming bloody murder in the background. It was a little stressful.
