The Arcata Police Department Invites You to ‘Coffee with a Cop’ on Wednesday

This is a press release from the Arcata Police Department:

Arcata, CA – The Arcata Police Department (APD) is excited to be holding the next Coffee with a Cop event for community members and APD officers to come together and share ideas over a cup of coffee.

Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the Department’s work in City of Arcata neighborhoods. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members, one cup of coffee at a time.

The majority of contact law enforcement has with the public happens during emergencies or emotional situations. These circumstances are not always the most effective times for relationship-building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street. Coffee with a Cop aims to break down those barriers and allow for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction. This kind of exchange helps to build a foundation for ongoing police and community partnerships.

It is the hope of APD that community members attend and feel comfortable to ask questions, bring neighborhood concerns or simply get to know our officers.

Coffee with a Cop will take place on Wednesday, January 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Jitter Bean Coffee Co., located at 4950 Valley West Boulevard in Arcata. All community members are invited to attend.

~oh it will be. I went to the EPD coffee w/cops, in-between Chiefs time. When i figured out who was who, i went up to the now Chief, who does not live in Eureka as per City Charter . . . and, anyway, showed him The City’s Annual Financial Report where it shows that the cops retirement account is in the red. He wasn’t interested.

The city charter says no such thing. It just says he doesn’t get paid while outside of city limits, unless on official business or on an approved vacation.

I can’t find his personal address online, but given your history of making things up, I’d bet he lives in Eureka.

The city doesn’t have its own retirement; city employees are Calpers, managed by the state. There is no stand alone city retirement that could be “in the red”.

~and you think CalPers isn’t in the red? Are you familiar with deficit spending? Or should i say deficit “investing”?

Eureka usually runs a year behind in closing their books. I didn’t get last years. The ones i do have, have several retirement accounting set-ups for fire and police. The City doesn’t put in their – if i remember correct – 50% of the retirement accounts that some of the police and fire personnel choose.

Ya know, and if the www wasn’t scrubbed and i could provide links to documents that i have in-hand, i would.

They really must have scrubbed the internet good, huh?

The problem was that the 2008 housing crash had a knock-on effect on retirement funds. This was and is a problem for both the public and private sector. Instead of worrying about chemtrails and orbital lasers, maybe you should turn your attention to the deregulation of derivatives trading.

If it makes you feel better, over-the-counter derivitives trading was deregulated by Clinton in 2000, so you legit blame him for that. My gift to you 😊

@Kym,

~can’t say i’ve read your rules, or if they’re numbered, however this>>>…”but given your history of making things up . . .” imHumboldtopinion isn’t an option. What would be my motive to “Make things up”? Who do these couple-a, trolls i guess, think they are? Do they know where they are?

Why should ANY commenter on, Especially on, Readheaded Blackbelt’s forum deal with brow-beating from the peanut galary?

“Off with their head”! mentality, as Guest points out.

It was tax payer’s turn today. -it’s not mandatory to communicate w/the dead or the Godless.

Doesn’t your Good Book say something about bearing false witness? Two different posters caught you in two different lies similtaniously.

“The Godless”?!? 🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸

Now, if that isn’t a band name already, it definitely should be! “The Godless” is a great band name, metal most likely. 🤘🏼

“Now, it’s the bad-ass band that you have all been waiting for – The Godless!”

They could open for Slayer. 👍🏿🔥💀🔥

I don’t know if some of the posts you do are lies (which implies intent to deceive) but if you post information to which other people can post credible rebuttal and you don’t retract the information or provide credible rebuttal to their information, then, many people would call that a lie.

I support your right to post. I do not protect you from people having opinions about what you post.

ONE MORE TIME

”but given your history of making things up . . .” <<< this is NOT about information. Duh.

I don't recall asking for your opinion of me either Kym. Stuff it.

I didn’t give you my opinion of you.

But a hazard of making claims outside the mainstream with no credible sources agreeing with you is that people will think that you are very wrong. I defend your right to say those things. HOWEVER, I do not stop people from saying you are wrong.

And you realize that you don’t exist in the same reality, and discussion may indeed be futile.

At any time i’m referring to Eureka’s Charter, i’m referring to the Freeman’s Charter for the City of Eureka February 5, 1895 (51 pages). Not the one The City passes off to gullible villagers. Or a link to same.

Ditto on any financial records. There’s no way anymore to follow check-and-balance since bribe-grants came in full and furious. The records are changed by way of ‘retro-active’ or ‘future’ charges, which has nothing to do with age-old Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

The Matrix Program is crashing. It’s outdated programming and the engineers of deceit can’t keep up.

FIRST OF ALL, Eureka was incorporated in 1856, not 1895.
https://books.google.com/books?id=Z0M8AQAAIAAJ&pg=PA718&lpg=PA718&dq=eureka+city+charter+1856&source=bl&ots=M0xI6sK-wl&sig=ACfU3U3s2DTPeXyI_9kX_0tyoHTZgUT5bA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjW3fDcjILgAhVER6wKHfgCC2IQ6AEwD3oECAkQAQ#v=onepage&q=eureka%20city%20charter%201856&f=false

Secondly, I cannot find the document you are talking about anywhere. Can you provide a link?

Thirdly, you already shown that you have no idea how EPD’s pensions are structured, your criticisms are gibberish.

The city charter doesn’t say what you said it says. It’s posted right there for you to read.

CalPers is not in the red. It is currently solvent.

What did you say that *was* true? You had coffee with a police officer who was disinterested in your irrelevent complaints? I can believe that.

Not true Kym Kemp. I tried to post correct info/facts by the CDC as a reply after you left a completely false racist & homophobic comment… your website would not post my correct info. Facts.

I went to the last coffee with a cop and told them we need to get over to the other function called Grass With A Grower and make some arrests.
