Am grateful to those who were driving 101s same time as me for all slowing down to 55 in the heavy rain&had their lights on.
Dont drive unless you have to!
🕯Wow did Paul Bunyan come through. Thanks for the info Kelley.
Sandstorm?
Wet sand storm what
A sandstorm eh….. The wind is pretty full of itself out there. It’s mocking the feeble job we do of securing things, and laughing with giddy excitement at what ease it can pick shit up and throw it down again , like chairs, tables , tree tops and bottoms and apparently piles of sand . I do occasionally yell at the wind- to no avail. It’s scary AF up on the ridge tops right now . Those of us with a roof over our heads tonight are blessed.
They said gusts up to 50mph on ridgetops, but I’d say we’ve definitely had higher gusts than that in downtown Redway judging by the branches blowing off the trees etc. I got to a safer place in my home a couple times. Could hear it howling several times. Here in Redway there’s something about the way the mountains come together that amplifies gusts or creates downdrafts. It must be 70mph gusts on ridge tops at the very least. I’m surprised we still have electricity.
