Press release from HWMA:

Now that the holidays are coming to a close, you may be wondering what to do with the tree. HWMA has gathered some resources for when, where and how to recycle your Christmas Tree.

Before recycling, you must prepare your tree. Remove all lights, ornaments, wire, tinsel, stands and other materials not part of the tree. Then either arrange for tree pick-up using your local garbage hauler or community group, or you may deliver your tree to the locations listed below. Collection dates vary by community.

Once collected, the trees will be chipped and composted!

Donate it to the wood chipper crew to use during the punishment of wrong doers….

That’s probably the best solution.

First the goats happily eat most of the branches then it gets put whole in the compost pile.

….Or! Do what we did as teens (and honestly, for a few years after). Carry the tree carefully outside, and place it gingerly in an open area. Then, cover it till just after it has rained, get a lighter, and
TORCH IT!!!
Watch how fast the flame becomes about 3 times as tall as the tree!! And thereafter, not only have you gotta a great cheap pyro-thrill, YOU HAVE ALSO LEARNED HOW DAMN DANGEROUS A DRY TREE IS IN YOUR HOUSE!
Ahhhhh. And thus, both your adult and inner teen selves have been well served.
